AmitG, hope you are well.
Can you do me a favour please? I have been told by the DS dealer for some reason I do not have an original battery fitted despite me buying the car with 100 miles on the clock it seems as though the battery at some stage had been changed earlier on in it's life.
The spec needed is apparently 70Ah, 760A..... all the online search engines also state the same.
I have just found out I have a 74Ah, 680A Napa brand fitted.
Just wondered what yours was?

500x, I will have a look in the next few days - will need to be at home during daylight hours. Very strange if the battery was not original with only 100 miles on the clock. They come from the factory with a correctly specced battery, it's not like the dealer has to pop to Halfords and get whatever is on the shelf.
Are you seeing any problems, or is it something that you just noticed?

AmitG - Thanks for looking when the time comes. it sure is a mystery. Did the lease company swap out the better one for a substandard at some stage thinking nobody would notice? I do not know but It's possible.
It was flagged up to me because I took the car in for warranty repairs and just mentioned radio presets were being wiped at random, they did a health check and noticed it wasnt the original battery....if it was the original and faulty they could have claimed as a warranty repair on it, but as it isnt they need to replace. Originally they quoted £391, which has now reduced to £303 as they say they'll fit for free, but I've gone back to the guys I bought it off for answers.
I have thought in the past the battery feels a bit weedy, very reluctant to SS even after a long run and doesnt freewheel as much these days.
While the A and Ah variance doesnt seem that much, if I look on the Tayna website at the respective Bosch models, the battery fitted to my car is £84, and the one it should be is £154 so there is quite an uplift.

Thanks very much for the reply, I've just been away for a week.
Looks like that would be the original with it being chinese but not quite as rated, apparently 70Ah/ 760A is the correct rating. The DS dealer says 70A/ 760A and every site I type my car reg into says the same.
Mine does feel weedy though. Drove to the airport last friday for 75mins, parked for a week and when I came back it immediately went into ECO mode and shut down.

Thought this may be of interest on the DS9 for anybody considering. I had a 2023 Jag XF that was written off and purchased a pre-registered zero mile DS9 from Motorpoint for 26k. I do about 25k miles a year so thinking was to have it for 3 to 4 years in the knowledge that its residual value would be non-existent but it would have done its job for me. Car looked in my view, fantastic but the quality seemed 'sprayed on'. My car was the non-hybrid version. I think anyone coming from a more traditional 'exec' would find the 1.6 engine pretty underwhelming, it did the job but nothing more, you wouldn't buy this car if you were a keen driver either from an engine or handling perspective. The interior was quite nice but the infotech was pretty poor, what you'd expect in a Clio rather than an Exec car, slow and clunky. Quality wise, I had no specific real issues but a couple of 'chrome' trim pieces were miss-angled and coming loose. After 3,000 miles and 6 weeks, I decided to trade out of it and go back to an XF. Sadly, it was miles off in key areas and the looks were not backed up by the dynamics. Shame, I love cars that are a bit 'different' but interesting chrome work and lights that 'dance' don't cut it in this class.
AmitG - Mine started fine but it was just in the ECO mode where it turns the ignition off and shuts the infotainment down.
MikeBentley - If it's not then it must be close.
Wargeo - AmitG and I have the same car. I like the engine a lot and think it's a good mix of low capacity and good power. 225hp is enough for a car weighing a little over 1.5 tonnes and I think the refinement of the unit is very good, along with the gearbox and brakes. Some people complain about the steering but i have no problems with it and the handling is good. Like I've said before the main bugbear is the ride comfort that I'm hoping to fix with the help of the dealer. Infotainment isn't the best I agree but not a dealbreaker for me and I run Waze through android auto and it's fine. Quality I'm finding top notch on mine, some may say it's chintzy vs the German alternatives but it does feel very well screwed together.
In time I'll sound deaden the wheelarches, rears should be easy over the top in the boot, front's a bit less so.
Main thing to consider though is the price, anything premium german of a similar size would have started in the 40's. I got mine for 25k, like yours but with just 100 miles. At the time I couldn't buy an auto VW golf for that money and it was the same price as a skoda octavia se 1 litre auto. No comparison.

I think it will do.
The issue is the battery I have fitted is the non stop start, non heavy duty version. I don't think the slight variance in the A and Ah is the problem, its the fact it isn't an AGM type.
I see your pics shows AGM on one of them and as such yours should be ok.
Just look at the 2 links here, the first is the one I have fitted, the second is similar to the type I should have fitted, even though I have gone for a Bosch version. Read the features and you can tell I have the wrong battery fitted.

That looks spot on. It should fix the problem. I know that stop start requires a heavy duty battery. The issue is the battery I have fitted is the non stop start, non heavy duty version. I don't think the slight variance in the A and Ah is the problem, its the fact it isn't an AGM type.

Don't let the VED be the dealbreaker is my advice, it's already priced in.
My experience of buying might be a good example. I had to have one of the last remaining pearl crystal white's and pushed it to the wire gradually as they were sucked up. Saw one at 27k around mid July last year, I remember it was a Saturday/ Sunday, the missus wanted to go for it there and then, I held off.
The following Tuesday I saw one elsewhere for 26k, bought it online without seeing it, and put a grand deposit down. Then the dealer started being a bit evasive, saying it was at the dealer waiting for an air filter etc, and it was all taking too long and the comms were bad. Whilst this was happening I saw the 27k one drop in price a few times.
Then it got to 14 days and as I had never seen the car I had online purchase rights and right to reclaim the full deposit, which I did. So i cancelled the 26k car.
This was after I bagged the 27k one the day before which by now in just 2 weeks had dropped to 25k.
So if I saved a grand or two is open to question but I thought it goes a long way to covering much of the silly VED.

Just changed the battery to the Bosch S5 A08.
Put it all back together and the car was turning over but not igniting. Tried a couple of times. Starting to worry.
Then thought I wonder if the car computer needs to learn there's a new battery? so kept the ignition on for about 10 mins.
Then started it and it fired up instantly. I can tell it's a better battery as it seems to start slightly quicker than the old one.

£570 a year to run on smooth tarmac I could almost stomach….on the pot holed st were expected to put up with no way…My experience of buying might be a good example.
