Golden Duck for FIGJAM in the county cricket today.....Hampshire fans booed him on and off and cheered the wicket like loons apparently. As you'd expect.
I would not usually condone such behavior but, all things considered, believe on this occasion, he has reaped what he has sown.
yes KP has only himself to blame.

Indeed, poetic justice springs to mind smile

Unfortunately Skip just looks like his head isnt there atm, which is probably understandable. The Boks must think its Xmas time this summer with the lovely great big pressie we have gift wrapped for them with this series. Or have our resident Bok friends not actually stopped laughing yet?

What gets me though is the grief that came out of South Africa and in official cricket circles at KP over the last few yrs and now he decides its ok to start sending txts to them slating his own Captain!! I dunno if you chaps in the Southern Hemisphere do hubris, but you could bury KP in it right now and he'd be flowering his own shrubbery!!!

Hi DJRC I must admit my respect for FIGJAM (great name) was lost a very long time ago. As for all the nonsense he has got himself into recently, I am just pleased that he is not in the SA camp. And who on earth in our squad would you drop for him and still keep it ballanced?

Looking forward to today and some fired up bowling.

FIGJAM is Warne at his finest smile I presume it was Warne in the Aussie camp anyway. Its too good for the Aussie media to have come up with on their own!

KP at his best is worth a place in any lineup in test cricket. But as you say, the baggage he brings and the disruptive influence on a team, esp when you have a settled and efficient lineup...!

If England do produce a proper innings today, get the victory and so scrape a series draw, then I will freely admit it is something that has been dragged from the jaws of defeat and the moral victory very much South Africas. As it is I would be astounded if we managed it, the team are simply not at the races. South Africa have battered England black and blue and it has only been some very determined, hard working bowling from England in the last 2 games that have even given us this shot. The English batting and fielding have both been poor, not least because only 2/3rd of your bowling has been working at 100% at any one time! I dont think Steyn has been fully fit all series has he?

In case we win. Which I admit is looking unlikely in the light of happenings since both statements were made. (I still refuse to go for admitting defeat when your 4th innings hasn't even started...now maybe...).

Steyn has not always looked himself this series, but then maybe we set the bar too high for him as he is already has 14 wickets (with another 8 still possible) at an average of 27 and a strike rate of 51. No one else in either team betters any of these numbers.

Scoring pace seems rather sluggish this morning. Please tell me they're not trying to bat out the fking draw.

one would hope not but this is the best pace attack in world cricket at pres hunting for the win away from home.

9 dropped catched this series, most unlike england...

I think we've been a bowler short all series tbh, my preference is always for 5 bowlers.

with 4 if one has an off test or series (i.e. swann this series) it limits you. In order to win a match you have to bowl the opposition out twice, something sadly we have not looked close to doing this series.

Are SA the best team in the world? not sure but based on this series England definitely are not the no. 1 team in the world.

Run rate of 3.8, hardly going to set the world alight. I think they just want to save face tbh.

Eng 42-3 (25.5 overs)

I make that about 1.7 per over.

Taylor run out going for a fourth run.

What the heck? Why would you run yourself out in what is effectively a 90 over innings?

Mentally gone, duffed up, turned over, minds elsewhere.

We need to get past the KP sideshow and get back to playing good cricket. Which we haven't done most of the series - its not often we put down that many catches. Jimmy's yesterday from ABDV was an absolute shocker.

these two need a headingley 1981 proportions performance to drag a win out...

1 positive for me for england out of this series (KP aside) is the continually good perormances of Matt Prior.

I think we genuinely have the best all round keeper in test cricket at present. full marks.

Agree about Prior but you won't win this game from 7. Four out of out top 5 didn't get into double figures. I would love another cameo from Bairstow though just to keep the saffers waiting. This is as much about not losing Test match as it losing our No1 title. Mind you having watched the 3 matches there is only one team deserving of that moniker and thats SA.
