Sorry for crap garage pics but here's my bag from the last round. Was links golf, so I dropped a wedge and threw in an old Nicklaus JNS forged 3 iron. Must be 20 years old now, but a trusty friend. If you've got a 45 degree wind into and across, I either tee a driver low or hit the 3 iron, depending on the hole.

Driver is Cobra
3 wood is TM M4 high launch 16.5
Cobra F9 19 degree hybrid
PXG 22 degree hybrid
5 to PW TM P790s

All woods are stiff and irons all regular flex. I like this shaft set up for me.

Wedges are typically all TM tour preferred 52 56 60 but I sometimes switch those up, and have a beat up MD 54 and a TM 58 high toe.

Some rotation wedges and putters

Currently playing an Odyssey R line Q works putter but sometimes I'll put something else in. TM ghost is nice and I've 2 heavily gamed custom Scotties, Titleist 1.5 studio design being a particularly nice putter along with a Teryllium Newport. Got some brand new custom Scottie head covers and circle T head covers locked away, and a Scottie custom shop cap.

I used to collect Scotties but sold most of my collection and just kept the stuff I felt attached too.

This is the custom head of my Cobra F9 hybrid. Iron Man smile

Thanks Bodhi! I think point 1 is the big thing for me (point 2 is very much noted as well though) - the practice swing feels nice and controlled then in the real swing my brain does a big panic at the top of the backswing and everything goes out of shape. It's getting there, just need to chill out a bit!

That's a very nice WITB! Those Nike irons look absolutely gorgeous.

On the topic of Nike, a few weeks back I played with someone who had that old square driver they made years ago and it sounded absolutely horrible. And loud. So, so loud biggrin
Aaah, the SQ..they were shocking...need earplugs on the range!

Looks like a real pro set up. The driver and wood combos are still hugely popular on tour..

Those Nike VRs are unbelievable. Some very nice sets on here. These are mine:

Driver - Rogue ST MAX 9* set at 10*
3 wood - Paradym Triple Diamond 15* set at 17*
3 iron - Titleist u500 21*
4-PW - 24’ Apex CBs
52* - Wilson Staff FG Wedge
56* - Vokey SM5
60* - Vokey SM5
Putter - Odyssey white hot #9

All in stiff shafts. Probably need to replace the wedges next season after 10 odd years of use / abuse.

The irons took almost two months to arrive but I absolutely love them. Much more forgiving than I’d expected!

I like it. I don't think it's an overly hard course, some of the greens are a little small but the fairways are pretty generous I think. The fact the surrounding trees are usually deciduous means the rough past the first cut can be brutal, a black hole into which balls disappear, never to be found again. The bunkers really seemed to be placed for the 'average' person that's hitting it 180-210 off the yellow tees, I think even a moderate hitter won't find most of them very bothersome.

Feel free to let me know if you're going out for a round, I'd be well up for it if you're willing to have a very high handicapper tag along.
Thanks for the info. I bought a garden table from an older gentleman who was a member and was telling me they never shut the course.

I normally play at Billingbear, Downshire or Birds Hill. Sherfield is a good track just finding time to squeeze in 18 when you not a member at places.

Cheers Tycho! I've played Sherfield Oaks a couple of times and it's really nice, as long as it's dry. Others have said it's got a bit sloppy around there over the winter, so fingers crossed for more dry weather now. Sounds like we have a few locals up for a round!
It's been really wet recently with 5 inches of mud on some of the par 3s between the tee and green. No run on the fairways and plugging in the fringe. Played the Wellington course last week and it was starting to dry out nicely.

I'm a flexible member at Sherfield which suits me. 200 points for £450 and it gets me around 20 rounds including Saturday comps.

That's good value. I play with two friends who aren't members either so need to try and convince them to commit as well.

Played the Wellington over Xmas and couldn't believe how wet it was and they happily let everyone go out with trollies and didn't even ask for winter wheels. State of some of the fairways

For me it is just right. Full membership is £150pm so I can top up my points almost 4 times which means I would have to play over twice a week for the full membership to be cheaper. I don't play much over the winter and can't play every week in the comp so it's a great balance. It also means that I don't feel that I have to get out when the weather is rubbish and gave more spare cash to play other courses.

In December and Jan it was spelt stupidly wet and really shouldn't have been open. Until last week they preferred carrying but I think we have got over there worst of the soaking fairways. Last week there was a bit of run.

All great courses. If you can, Lundin Links next to Leven is great too.

Oh, and welcome to Crail. Love the place and proud to be a member there

Thanks. I’m quite happy with them, especially the long end of the bag.

I’ve tried some of the newer woods and hybrids but nothing has given me better numbers, so not worth the cost to change. The driver, 3 wood and hybrid were all second hand and well under £300 for them all. I will keep the hybrid till it breaks. And then I have an identical spare head in the garage.

The T150s are magnificent. Mine have AMT red shafts to help get spin up a bit. They look great, are workable and forgiving enough for my toe side miss. They are fast replacing my old MacGregor VIP 1050mb as my favourite ever iron. I’ll need to see how they perform over the summer season first before deciding.

The only clubs that need looking at are my wedges. With a 48° gap wedge there is a bit of a gap to my 54° which is causing some gapping issues. So I might need to go 52, 56, 60 rather than my preferred 50, 54, 58. I need book some time in to sort it out. Although I’m tempted to get the pitching wedge bent to 45, the gap to 50 and keeping the 54 and 58. We will see.

The putter is a new addition and was a bargain too good to pass up. So far it has performed very well. It’s only 33” but feels great. Problem is, the boy putts better with it than his putter so wants one too.

The boy has just had another growth spurt and is now the same height as me. So, he really needs his ladies clubs replacing with men’s clubs. He’ll probably be getting a set of Ping G-something irons and 7 wood to see him through the season. I’ve done a deal with him that when he breaks 100 round from our 6500 yard tees I’ll buy him a set of new clubs.

I played Lundin last year and really enjoyed it. I've also played both courses at Crail and really enjoyed them.

I'd like to take the people I'm going with to play Crail on the 10th but green fees are getting silly at £160 each.

Some lovely WITBs here!

I will get a snap of my set later - Suns out and getting to play today. Moved my membership to Ashford as in the process of a house move and the cost to stay at East Sussex National didnt stack up.
