Probably not; certainly not at the moment. You could even question whether he'd beat Khan again in a re-match. But does that mean he deserves to be labelled as 's t'??? No, not in my eyes. Yes, this is a public forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion but, really, is that the best you can offer...?!?! Don't get me wrong, he deserves the belts as it was one hell of a punch - whether this was intended or just a blind shot; it still hit its mark. However, my 'irk' with Garcia is as boxer as a 'whole' - he doesn't bring, IMO, anything to the table (no skill/flair/defence/speed) - he is one of those boxers who stands in the middle of the ring and has the same game plan: 'you hit me, I'll hit you back harder and we'll see who remains standing' All of his fights have been like that; there is no style in his boxing. The way he was missing his shots in the 2nd round, it was almost like he was half drunk. That is what I meant when I said he is shi7! I was a gutted for Khan, but that is what happends when you don't stick to a game plan! Anyway, it'll be interesting who Garcia fights next though, I don't think he will offer a rematch. A clash with Maidaina would be interesting . . . . . Well, I'd still question whether 'shi7' is the most appropriate word to use, but fair play to you for coming back with a reasoned explanation! Unfortunately, as one or two have noted, whenever there's a big fight there seems to be an influx of 'keyboard warrior'-type posts...if you go back over the last 10 pages or so you'll see plenty; they aren't hard to spot! Regarding Garcia, Maidana would be an interesting option (certainly for the neutral!). I think I'd agree with you about the Khan rematch too; at least in terms of an immediate rematch - I think Garcia (especially Garcia Snr) realises that a repeat performance could by no means be guaranteed, but because the image of Khan has taken a bit of a battering over the last couple of fights, he probably won't be in a position to offer another big Vegas payday at this moment in time. Of course, there's always the option for Garcia of stepping up to Welterweight with the prospect of getting a big money fight there...not necessarily the best path for his career, but it's easy to see how he could be tempted to 'make hay while the sun shines' financially, so to speak...

I dont rate Garcia either.I think 9 tims out of 10 Khan beats him(if he sticks to the gameplan). The comentators on sky saying a new superstar has been born is silly. Yes he caught Khan and got the job done but up to that point all of his lack of ability was being exposed.I also thought it was terrible how golden boy has hyped up Khan so much in recent times then when Garcia won old Oscar was grinning like a cheshire cat in the interview(I think he promotes both ?).Reminded me of the Frazier foreman fight went with the champion left with the champion scenario

Asgardian said: Just read that Price fancies a fight Chisora....Surely Dereck isn't THAT stupid? I think we all know he is very very stupid. I also think he's got some big fight wins in him, his Frazer-esque style and size will trouble a lot of heavyweights, especially in smaller rings. Just my opinion that, but it's a fact he's incredibly stupid.

Wonder how that makes Khan feel psychologically? I would probably feel a little abandoned, though in the grand scheme of things I suppose business is business; the promoters always want to be with the winners.

I heard rumours of this a few weeks ago but didn't want to repeat them in case they were without foundation but, unfortunately, it looks like they were correct. For both his and the sport's sake, I hope there is a rational explanation, but I'm not holding my breath... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-21...He's been claiming from the outset that it was due to a contaminated food supplement and his team are gathering evidence of everything he bought/consumed to present as evidence. This seems to be a defence/excuse - delete as appropriate - a lot these days and there are quite a few top nutritionists claiming that some manufacturers are deliberately putting 'stuff' in their supplements. I wonder if this is true, who is doing it and in what products. Might be a crafty idea to make punters feel like they always get better results from protein powder brand x than the others and return buy! A glimmer of hope then! I would be very disappointed if it transpired he was taking PEDs; he seems a genuinely nice character and held in high esteem throughout the boxing community (as well as being a fighter that I've a fair bit of time for). Besides which, I can't really see what they'd do for him; he could take all the PEDs in the world but it won't make much of a difference if he continues to hang his chin out like that! Anyway, fingers crossed... Not sure of the ins and outs, but 6-month ban kind of feels like the Anti Doping Agency accepted the explanation from Maccarinelli... http://www.worldboxingnews.net/2012/07/maccarinell...

khan is fit for one thing , and thats dancing on ice . with them bambi legs he'll win with ease. How on this earth can he sit in front of the worlds media and say he wants mayweather is simply beyond me . he needs to start paying more atention to the opponant stood in front of him. Deal with things one step at a time. And for gods sake learn how to close up in a fight and defend himself. Interestingly he claims he needs a coach who can devote his full day to him ( freddie roach perhap s the finest coach around at the mo) sujestion to khan, listen to your coaching team , do as they say and stop being a jumped up arrogent little t t . .................. And still not forgiven david haye for robbing me of 14quid for his klitchko fight. 'great heavyweight' ur avin a giraffe!

i've got a feeling that manuel charr might be displaced as vitali's next victim if they can agree terms with haye to fight before the ukrainian elections in october
after his demolition of chisora and seeing his sharpness is still great, but his vulnerability to getting hit still there also......
......i really hope this fight comes off

From watching Khan on ringside I am pretty confident that he will come back stronger, with decent boxing strategies embedded into his mind and will have success at a high level again. He is young still and is very motivated to learn from his mistakes. I think Khan will be judged favourably by fans at the end of his career, and all those that geve the knee-jerk reaction that he should retire will be eating their words!

I'm sure Khan will win plenty more of titles in the future and will amass a fortune that other better fighters could only dream of, but I think his career will be one that is continually punctuated by spectacular KO defeats.

Two things he can do to prevent his career from being tainted by the 'spectacular KO' defeats: 1) fight and beat Prescott again 2) fight and beat Garcia again It worked for Lennox Lewis, who avenged his two defeats to McCall and Rachman.

It worked for Lennox Lewis, who avenged his two defeats to McCall and Rachman. Unfortunately, there is a third thing he would also have to do to prevent his career from being tainted by spectacular knock-out defeats...make sure he doesn't get spectacularly knocked out again!!! If he accomplishes that, I daresay the above will fall into place...
