I have a watch with a eta automatic movement, now it's not the most expensive watch in the world ( sub £800 ) but it's loosing time and needs servicing. It can not be worth much more that a couple of hundred quid so feel a bit wrong spending that just to service it!! Now my datedust is different, i can live with £400 on a service! What does everyone else do with their cheaper autos?

How much time is the watch losing per day? What manufacturer is it? I'd look at sending it to a recommended independent watch specialist, who will service the movement for a lot less than returning it back to the manufacturer. A good independent will sort the accuracy and give the watch an overhaul to make it look like new again smile

Depends on the watch and the independent, but somewhere between £150-250 at a guess ... It'll be cheaper if you decide not to have the case/bracelet refurbished and just have the movement serviced smile

More like £65 to £85 and Id expect anything without a well respected name to be at the lower end of the scale.

Try Steve Burrage at Ryte Time for a pleasant surprise.
