That is a great price….must resist…resistance fail…inbound!
Will match my blue Bradner….
Received this today.
I’m going to send it back I think.
It’s too dark, far darker than the website pictures. Need a torch to see the time….
Wow, found one of these advertised used on ebay. Looking at the dial, I can understand why they are on offer:

any love for the Sternglass GMT @ 249 euros?

i'm tempted ....

as an aside

is there a thread recommendation for straps - i quite like the straps that have the circles cut out (are they called rally straps?)

thanks!
Just got one of these for a friend's birthday, really very nice, especially at £167 from First Class Watches on a NATO.

Amazing value at €107 delivered from Amazon France.

With a nice black leather strap that would go from sporty to dressy in an instant. Great find.
I agree totally! Tried to find a 22mm strap in my box of stuff but couldn't find one to my liking... AliX it is then!

I'd pretty much written off most Citizen stuff for being too bulky, save for the Tsuyosa. But this looks like it has decent proportions. A great buy, especially at that price!

Hello fellow watch aficionados! As a long time lurker, occasional poster and confirmed addict collector, I was wondering if you could help with some inspiration.

A very good friend of mine, who has recently come out the other side from some health issues, has a very mundane 50 something birthday coming up.

I thought I'd liven the event up with a new watch for him. I'm happy to spend thread budget, he's not into cars, used to do scuba diving, is a massive nerd/geek and not into bling or anything dressy. It'll probably also be used as a daily beater.

Any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated.

You're describing a dive watch wearer. Try Orient, or Steeldive for excellent quality at that price range.

Or maybe:

Something like an Orient Kamasu or Ray should be in budget and a decent enough watch.

Hi warp9, nice to see you back.
As others have said, Steeldive, Orient, some of the Citizens fall in there, you may be able to pick up a Seiko 5 at that price bracket.

Citizen ny0040 proper Diver’s watch, available on other variants with blue dials, full lume etc. easy to find in budget on strap. Bracelet is a bit crappy but has a very useful extension

Scurfa, nice watches BUT out of stock of nearly everything and can't preorder.

I have been waiting for the Tiffany ladies Top Side Crew watch to come into stock for about 6 months. It was going to be my "summer" watch.

As I haven't posted in here for ages, some of you may remember I have been looking for a small green watch for about 18 months, even started a thread on the search. I think I am homing in on a resolve but unfortunately it breaks the thread budget many times over, we will see what happens.

Thank you all for the suggestions so far. I don't think I want a full on diver, although the Orient look nice, need to have a mooch around the Citizen range and have always liked Spinnaker - love a micro brand!

Seiko 5 SRPK with the 38mm case. Fits everyone well and it's £200 on Amazon.

Well my latest incoming will almost divide opinions.

I've liked these for a while and when they appeared at a decent price on the watch gang wheel I decided to take a punt!

Thanks again for all your suggestions. I've decided to go with a Dan Henry 1970 Divers in black/orange. This ticks the birth year and divers watch boxes, plus is pretty cool IMO. It's a touch over thread budget, but you know..... biggrin
I'll report back when it arrives, because I'm going to have to try it on for quality control purposes!

I've seen a lot of these in the Facebook watch groups and they get a lot of praise for just how good they are considering the price.

As a counter, I'd say spend your money on what makes you smile.
The bracelet is really nice as well.
The straps are nice too, I was trying a few today to have as an alternative as the mood takes me. Price relatively reasonable too from Tissot. Just need to find out if they do extra long straps, one of the jewellers said they did.
Just as an update I just received an AliExpress black silicon/plastic/rubber/recycled whatever and although a little bit fiddly does a good job of the Tissot one for less than a tenner. Fitment around the lugs is decent ant is the same length. The extra long straps from Tissot have drawn a black and this is ok for me just.

Unlike the strap I just got for my Hydroconquest, which is a tiny bit too small…especially in this freaky warm weather. Now have to try and drill a hole through the strap to get back another 5mm.
