Yuk, horrible boat the quality is not there compared to other manufacturers and it is a very impractical yacht ;-)

Mike
i am sure mr Green manages a good time on it
I know he does, but comparative to other builders it is not the same quality, thats not an opinion it is excepted fact to be hoonest

Another well researched, factually sound article about superyachts in the press.

I agree, out of interest what did you work on and do on them?

yikes I have noticed that yachts tend to get uglier as they get bigger, but that's pretty hideous!

It appears Enigma has a gas turbine too. I imagine the fuel consumption of something like that or Ecstasea at full chat would be eye watering - even in superyacht terms.

I started out on small (45-60ft) sailboats, did a circumnavigation in 94-95,
did a short spell as engineer on a 120ft motorsailer calle ACT IV (Ex ABC)
a couple of seasons on a 26 mtr Jongert (La Perla, the first one) as Mate, joined "Lone Ranger" in 96 as Engineer for Tenders untill 2002, I took a year out during that time, and managed a 10 month re-fit on a 19 meter Van Dam Nordia steel sailboat (Oyimbo)before getting the shout to go back to Lone Ranger.
After I left Lone Ranger, I did a few months with Sunseeker here in Mallorca, doing warranty work, before going to work for my present boss, running his Johnson 87 M/Y, been with this family for over 7 years now.
I think a few more years will do me. That'll take me to 55. Then I intend to enjoy what I have while I can. Will probably just do some bits and bobs, the odd delivery etc.

One day over lunch, the Chief told me a very funny story about a shark getting sucked up into one of the jets. biggrin
I believe she has quite a good range, untill they fire up the turbine, then they can burn everything off in 24hrs! eek

I'm sorry but this appeals to me on so many levels its not true. That video just sells it. I also love the fact that it is covered in solar panels.

Can I ask the yacht experts here, how would you dock this thing with it being so wide, would you need two spaces, and second has anyone ordered one yet and how much would it cost?

I would *imagine* - you wouldn't so much as dock it. It would be left 'outside' of the Harbour at anchor. Commute by an equally impressive Flotilla of support boats. like this ?>

Anyone ordered?
Not as far as I am aware.....

How much ?

The reason I asking about the cost was because its such a unique design will it cost more than the £1m per meter rule
