Piltons used to do a absolutely superb pair of ice and fire sweet ciders. Truly outstanding but pricey stuff. Got through a frightening amount. The fore one ceases to be sadly as it was even better than the ice.

Ew, I'll have to try that. I do love a meat feast/ American Hot. Fresh or frozen?

It’s Japanese Week at Lidl starting on 14/3. Could be interesting.

I've been trying all the different 2 step curry sauces from Aldi. Had the Balti one tonight, think it's my favourite, bit of a kick without taking your head off. I had it with chicken but think it's probably better suited to a dark meat. I'm not much of a lamb fan so will try it with beef.
I’m a fan of the Rogan Josh in the jars
Seconded. Its mild but great taste.

The Madras is a bit too sharp for me (not the heat - just a bit too bitter)
Yeah Rogan Josh was good, also not sold on the Madras. Jalfrezzi was decent.
I really like the Madras, a spoon or two of mango chutney stirred in at the end makes it better too, much like a bit of dark chocolate in a chilli.

I've had a few of those, and they're very nice indeed. In the run up to Christmas it looked as if they'd been discontinued, but they turned up again. The only trouble with them is that I've had to buy a bigger plate because the rectangular format won't fit on my normal plate. The special plate doesn't quite fit in the sink.

The other one I've been enjoying recently is the Iceland stuffed crust Chilli Dog pizza, very tasty. The same range has an "American Hottest", but in my opinion they're hot but not all that tasty. Maybe the spiciness is just drowning out the taste, but I probably won't buy any more.

I've tried the detroit style frozen pizza from ALDI, wasn't much of a fan tbh, much preferred the frozen roman 'pisa' from LIDL. both are thick and bready however the pisa felt softer to me.

Tried their pub gourmet tikka masala tonight based on the recommendations on here. Normally not a fan of ready made curries and tend to make my own from scratch most of the time, but, bloody good it was. Would have been happy enough if it was served up in a restaurant I recon. Would recommend.

Of the two, you're leaning towards the Pisa smile

A glass of the Clare Valley Shiraz from Lidl went nicely with the shepherd's pie.

edit : Barossa, the Clare is from Aldi

i'm hoping the croissant buns make a comeback in summer, haven't seen this for a while.

still have not seen the soft-serve scotch eggs for years. Bought these on a recommendation on here, they were great!

If you have a Morrisons near you, they do them in the Deli counter area

Haven't tried it yet but a couple of more experienced shoppers I bumped into told me that this is lovely so I picked up a few bottles yesterday.

must have been an introductory offer, my local has now but it up from £3.99 to £9.99

Enjoy! It's only a half bottle so didn't feel bad drinking it to my self!
