Going to advertise my trusty old Ooni/Uuni 2S soon, if anyone on here is interested let me know. I figured it made sense as I bought it from a fellow PH’er back in 2016

Long day of diy so went to the local business estate for dinner, natch!

It’s a bit rough around the edges, but a tidy pizza and a good pint.

Made pizza tonight. No photo's as everyone was hungry but did a bit of fusion on my one, usual tomato base, cheese and then some tandoori lamb cutlets I made last night thinly sliced.
Cooked and then a drizzle of mango chutney and some coriander on top. Was really good, would recommend.

I currently have one of the original Weber pizza ovens that sits on top of my MasterTouch as seen on this page - https://www.bbqs2u.co.uk/blog/how-to-use-the-weber...

It made great pizza in the past, but was always a pain to refuel because you had to lift the whole thing off to add more wood, and it goes through wood very quickly. It’s quite heavy and a pain to store because it’s huge and has a rounded bottom so it doesn’t sit flat anywhere other than on a bbq. Because it’s so awkward to use I haven’t used it in a number of years. It’s one of those things that if you’re not going to cook 10 pizzas then it’s not worth getting it going.

I know nothing about modern day pizza ovens. What sort of thing would I be looking at that would lead me to getting rid of the Weber? I have a £500 voucher from work to spend on something and am trying to work out what to spend it on.

You can't go wrong with a Gozney or Ooni oven. Various shapes and sizes available.

The new Gozney Arc looks really good

Was a wetter mix than usual, think my measuring scales are not giving me the accurate measurement they should be. Tasted good though

Sold my 2S within a day of having it listed, went for £100. Not bad considering I paid £160 for it back in 2016

My little original Ooni is still making great pizzas. Gas conversion kit is a revelation. Pellets was okay but I found it very hit & miss.

Just made 1 Garlic pizza (excuse the burnt bit) and 3 x regular pizzas. Bit heavy on the tuna which made the base a bit damp, I probably didn’t drain it as much as I should have but still decent enough. So easy & quick. Love it!

Edit to add - I cheat and use shop bought dough most of the time. Either Northern Dough Co or Booker in bulk.

First time with my own homemade dough….

Buffalo Mozzarella didn’t have enough time draining sadly .
Tasted great though.

Need some ideas for a permanent outside home for my Koda12.

Nowhere obvious in my little bbq hut for it to live, so looking for ideas….

Happy to keep a cover over it , if it will survive like that.

Having to do this today….

Move the 2 pots on the right.
Put a square table there
Put the pizza oven facing into the hut

Could you not store it folded away sideways in a black box similar to the one in the building behind?

I store mine in a Strata storage box from Argos, like this one...

I've been struggling getting my dough to rise using Caputo yeast in those little tins, despite them being recently purchased, in date and stored in the fridge. I did a test with a mug of warm water, yeast & sugar and nothing happened, no bubbles or anything.

I then bought some Fermipan instant red dried yeast which I store in the freezer. Just done the same test and it bubbled up to the top of the mug. Have just made a batch of dough for tomorrow and after leaving it in baulk for an hour or so it had risen nicely. I've balled it up and put in fridge until tomorrow, hopefully I'll now get better pizza bases.

I had considered that corner, not thought about having it facing inwards. Good shout.

Not terribly aesthetically pleasing though.

I dont want to damage it tbh, I think the top could mark quite easily, plus the stone only lays in , so Id be worried about that getting damaged.

I picked up some 00 so some pizza action is predicted in the coming week, I have a few tins of Mutti but will go for fresh toms for the sauce, Aldi mozz' and cacciatore italiano, feeling optimistic.

A wider storage box then maybe? Or get an outdoor cover and store it somewhere within that summerhouse type thing
