I think it's easy when the cars depreciate to being worth very little (although I've no idea if a ZR1 in the UK was ever worthless), cars get parked up, intentions change and before you know it it's been stood and any recommissioning isn't worth the spend on what is now just an old car.
But if you don't need the space, maybe have the "on day..." thoughts it just sits and gets worse.
I enjoyed the episode for what it was worth, OK a bit light on fettling but then it had more history which I enjoyed.

What a great episode. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it so much as an American car agnostic. But loved their enthusiasm. And had completely forgotten about the ZR1 and Lotus connection, then found myself looking at second hand Corvettes.
And what a great couple of guys taking it on, went straight over to their Auto_Funk Chanel to see how they got on. They came across as real enthusiasts just getting stuck in on a driveway. I will follow and wish them well.

I've got a Chimaera in the garage that broadly fits that description. But if you don't need the space, maybe have the "on day..." thoughts it just sits and gets worse.

Hasn't turned a wheel since the kids were born (so around 5 years). It's high mileage so isn't worth much and needs a few bits and bobs (don't they all).
Atleast mine is in a clean/dry garage so apart from things like the fuel going off (full tank of super annoyingly) and the tyres no doubt flat spotting it's not like some of Jonny's barn finds.
I keep telling myself I'll get it out one day but in reality I doubt I will.

So why not move it on for whatever you can get for it? Just seems a shame letting something interesting like a Chim sit around gathering dust.

I’m the new ZR-1 owner… ! Totally overwhelmed by the response to the videos thanks to Jonny. I wasn’t expecting to go from 600 subs to 11,000+ and counting to be honest!
To clear up a few points:
Re the editing of Jonny’s video, arranging the shoot was all very last minute and I think Jonny had to use a different videographer and editor than usual , plus the logistics of filming on the day was a challenge due to various reasons. We actually spent hours making sure the engine wasn’t seized and that everything internally had plenty of lubrication. The front wheels took quite a lot of time to free off - We are really trying to be as sympathetic as possible so as not to damage anything or cause further problems so it was and is quite a slow process.
Jonny is an absolute legend and was a joy to film with on the day - His personality and passion is just the same in real life and he is a really fun bloke to be around. I massively appreciate the leg up he’s given us as well!
Re our filming, I agree is needs work and I’m not particularly happy with the first two videos… Video 3 will be similar (slightly better). From video 4 onwards the quality will be leaps and bounds ahead - I’ll be shooting with my Canon R6 on a tripod/gimbal and both of us will be properly mic’d up. I feel like I have a responsibility to provide high quality content now that we’ve got so much interest in the project!
Thanks to all who are supporting us and for all the positive comments… more coming soon although frustratingly I’m on holiday now in Morocco for a week so can’t do a lot until next week!

I'll be honest, I did think the 80's text graphics were a bit naff, but it's an 80s car so I do get it. The rest of the videos was great and I'm looking forward to seeing the progress.
