JDRoest said: http://www.businessinsider.com/tiger-poachers-indi...This ^ Until you drop the human rights of drug dealers, then nothing will change. Shoot them on site. Job done. In the southern US, if they want something eradicated, they put a price on it's head. Do the same in Mexico. Lets see how well drug dealers operate when the local population can take the occasional pot shot. So make it legal to shoot drug dealers? When there's a war between different drug dealer groups? What could possibly go wrong.

Let's send in Vin Diesal and Paul Walker and they'll sort it out for us, using the escape tunnel within the mountains to escape!
Sorry had to be done, the violence there is crazy though read about the video where uncle and newphew are killed with chainsaw and there is a Mexican website where this can be viewed right? I couldn't watch it, saw the link for it but no way that I would click on it the thought of it alone scares me to what a human being can do to another! Read on the same thread those two appeared to be drugged up as the nephew had the chainsaw go into his arm while killing uncle and he didn't even flinch? Madness, the people doing it should have it done to them, but that opens up a whole new can of worms!
A manager from ym work place went to Mexico a few months back and everything was fine for her while she was there but it was the whole beach resort thing that she did

There's a picture of a poor bugger who was made an example of somewhere online (Don't google "narco murder countless knives" if you are squeamish). They'd stabbed him with as many knives/sharp instruments they could lay their hands on and left him tied up in the middle of a city square. Nobody is safe and the narcos are so brutal and have such big financial backing that I really can't see what anyone can do. If you go against them, they take you and everyone close to you out. So what are your options? Play the game or leave the country? If you play the game, you are perhaps just living on borrowed time which isn't the way to go. It's gotten to the point there where the extreme violence is so regular that people have gotten used to it, to a degree anyway.
Very sad state of affairs as it is a genuinely amazing country with some wonderful people who are suffering.

Definitely a place to be on your guard - I was there last week.
It has always been dangerous and violent; before the latest drug cartel wars it was kidnapping that made the headlines. You don't hear about that so much these days, but it is still rife and probably the biggest threat faced by most travellers.

Available on quite a few sites too btw along with all sorts of other cartel related videos

Does anyone think that this will all get to a point, or the Cartels will kill the 'wrong' person, and we'll see a UN or US military response (with Mexican Gov backing/ approval)?
I get that this problem, whilst horrific, is quite localized and so, as long as the local Government 'go along' with it, we won't see any international action....
But, you kind of just want the Mexican gov to go; "Yo amigos, we could do with some help over here...can somebody send some troops!". Though, I'm sure that that is one fight the US/ UK wouldn't fancy rushing into anytime soon (though on the other hand, maybe that style of fighting might suit our forces better than the IED led campaign facing our troops currently).
At what point/ what events have to take place in order for this to become an 'International' problem?

As for AR-15s - you can buy them at Walmart. If you want a .223 AR-15 then I might have to drive to a gun shop. Which maybe is 2 miles from here, but their choice would be limited to around 20-30 different AR-15s that they'd have in stock. And you don't need a permit to buy this stuff. You only need a permit if you can't be bothered with a cooling off period. Heck, I wandered into our local Walmart last night, bought a bottle of wine, dish washer detergent, Mountain Dew, and 50 rounds of 9mm ammo. They checked my ID for the bottle of wine.

Any idea why they pixelated her skirt? Saw this reported on another site and there did not appear to be a knife in her stomach or anything like that.
Very sad, hard to imagine living somewhere like that. I can see the Mexican government requesting help in the near future as it is clearly out of hand (unless they are in on it too)

I'm sure that the cartels would pretty quickly adopt the tactics of the Taliban if any international force was deployed...

Saw End of Watch the other day (film about Mexican cartels in LA) - interesting how the South Central blacks are shown as either victims of drugs/users or "upstanding" drug dealers with a moral code! While the mexicans are evil scum ....in fact, one is called Big Evil!
As they say in the film...a changing of the guard from chicken on every corner to a taco store!
