No parachute and no mention of Travis Pastrana? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXQ1qEh9ar8
Ah yes, forgot about that one smile

He really did have no parachute... Hooking onto someone that did after a bit of freefall was a bit of a gamble to say the least!

This is getting me all excited for my trip to Spain to do my AFF in a few weeks time. Anyone else here skydive?

Just gonna leave sky news on in the background until it happens.
Me ! :-) Empuria or Skydive Spain?

Good luck with your AFF - if you have not - try and get in the tunnel for 10 mins before hand. WAY cheaper than a re-sit.
Going here: http://www.freefalluniversity.co.uk/

theres no indoor tunnels near me unfortunately and I go on June 18th. Feeling pretty nervous about it, but buzzing at the same time!
Can you post a write up afterwards? I am doing AFF in next 12 months but not sure where to do it. I understand to cross-qualify for UK from Spain is a lot easier than doing it in the States?
Sure can, there used to be a skydiving thread on the forum somewhere but I cant find it.

I believe I do my AFF levels then while I'm there I plan to do my 10 consolidation jumps, including the 5000 foot jump where you pull your chute straight away. I think as I'm doing this they help me fill in my application form to get the qualifications and as I leave they send it off to London to get it all sorted.

I know the free fall university (spain) where I'm going have been excellent so far answering all my questions, I emailed them asking a load of questions and they rang me back from spain within 30 seconds of pressing send! They booked everything for me from their end so all I need to do is give them money and get on a plane from Manchester.

I leave on June 18th for a week so I'll start a thread or something when i'm back!

Edit: According to twitter he's already jumped so sky are delaying the footage...

Nice one Tim. Enjoy smile

An idea on the price would be good but no worries if you save that for the write-up. Already off to the States early next year and then trying to squeeze in a snowboarding holiday before the season is out so thinking nipping to Spain for 7 - 10 days to get my AFF would be a nice way to round off 2013 holidays...

I'm less than an hour from Hibaldstow so like the idea of nipping down there on a sunny Saturday and doing a couple of 15,000 feet jumps whenever it takes my fancy. Great accompanied but I feel I should now up the ante.

I live close to peterlee so once I'm qualified that'll be my home. Was a 500 euro deposit then I have to pay 1177 euros when I arrive there, that includes flights, travel, accommodation and all equipment hire. So about £1300 - to do the AFF course are peterlee is £1500, so I'm getting guaranteed good weather and a bit of a holiday for a lot cheaper.

£1500 was the approximate quote I had to do it so that sounds fantastic. Please do report back smile I'm doing another accompanied one in the States over the Grand Canyon as it felt rude not to see it from freefall smile I'll be itching to do AFF after another jump though!

just seen the video on SN - he looked VERY wobbly during the flight. shame the angle they used didnt give you any perspective of speed - the constant blue sky makes it hard to realise just how quick he was moving.

thanks for putting all that info up - I too did a bungee jump and want to move on to do my AFF, have been looking into it seriously after a couple of goes at the indoor wind tunnels at Bedford and MK - I was looking at UK skydiving venues - but that package in Spain looks perfect! thumbup

No bother, like I say just drop them an email from their website http://www.freefalluniversity.co.uk/ and they'll get straight back no doubt. Where did you do your bungee?

Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, Place called Bungee Zone - really good place, managed to tack it onto a sea kayaking trip to Canada - they have a purpose built bridge to jump off smile

what about you?

EDIT - name of place changed - http://www.wildplay.com/elements/bungy-jump
