Many people may only have a Visa credit card forcing them to use credit over cash from their banks or buy pre paid visa cards which will incur a fee. Easiest thing would be to take some cash out from their bank's ATM prior to entering the Olympic Park and use that for drinks, snacks and souvenirs - although obviously you don't know exactly how much you are going to spend until you're inside Nice to see that they have shut all the non-VISA ATMs around the park, so that's the cash option buggered. A lot of overseas people do not have VISA as it is not that popular outside Europe.

Have to say, I'm not being terribly upset by the various stories about Olympic plans not going to plan. The M4 being closed and this latest bruhaha about security guards not being ready in time are not a surprise at all. It strikes me that the Olympics are going to highlight large amounts of what is wrong in the UK at the moment; crumbling infrastructure, huge security problems from home-grown terrorists, suppliers who can't deliver on time and to contract and massively greedy corporate giants. Throw in some good seleb-worship (the list of people who are given free tickets will never be made public but the press will helpfully point them out), a whole bunch of benefits-scroungers being given freebee stuff and still causing disruption, large-scale petty crime and a general feeling of 'what a shi ty place this is'. I can't wait. Oli.

It would have been much cheaper to give each person a bottle of water once through the turnstiles... I suspect they will break down, or not work correctly...

Burger king meal, pepsi in big bottles, mastercards, big george cross flag with no surrender to the IOC written on it, a che guevara T-shirt, a swingball, a couple of massive beach balls, your new expensive camera and a huge picnic hamper should be carried by everyone going to the olympics.

It's just like Beijing was. Well done UK. It's not the UK, it's the IOC who insist on all this, we are just 'lucky' enough to be hosting their little party...

"The food restrictions are likely to boost retail sales on the Olympic Park, where the world's largest McDonalds is waiting to serve its first customer. It has more than 1,500 seats." Christ, that really represents London.

If you go and watch athletics at the NIA, these rules also apply. In fact most stadia have quite strict rules about what you can and can't bring in.

You can still use machines in Stratford and Westfield shopping centre.

Does that include the MP's that have been given the tickets for free (even thought they have vested intrests) Linky number 2The Tory MP told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "I don't see any problem, actually, with people who have been sitting on an Olympic delivery inquiry going to the Games and watching how well they are delivered. "I believe that people who have been working on the Games do have a preferential route in to get some tickets to go and see them - that seems reasonably right. I didn't take them up myself but I can't say that I'm massively exercised by my colleagues taking it up, no." ffs.. again

It would be very amusing if you got a little plastic fish with your chips from every other vendor. They'd become collectable...

That's quite surprising, I suspect you're a very small minority though. Of course there's always good old fashioned cash?
