If I devoted any sort of real attention to this and did some research then I'd be genuinely engaging in the economic issues. But I really do not. Anyone can learn anything if they put their mind to it but I chose to devote my time to things that are either important (i.e., day to day s te) or that intrinsically interest me. Economics does not interest me.

This has probably already been dicussed (I haven't read the whole thread), but if Scotland became independent, wouldn't that mean that Labour would lose a lot of their support in England? Then we might perhaps get a conservative party (not necessarily the Conservative party), and we could start to undo all the damage done by in recent years by politically-correct, multi-culti politicians.
Not sure if it would be good for Scotland, but it could be very good for England.
