Your point volumes down.
My point high value goods are growing.
You can exclude services, if you wish, my point stands.
Just because something transverses 3/15 borders (within the EU) to make a ‘goods’ while during the manufacturing process does not make it any more valuable than something leaving the UK as exported.
Ask BMW.
Nice strawman. My point high value goods are growing.

Ask BMW.
My point- huge difference in growth in goods trade vs growth in services trade, because brexit.

You can understand why certain people are determined to suggest it is all the fault of Brexit now as with the real reasons of Covid and the Ukraine war slowly fading into the background and the UK picking up nicely, goods trade which has been dropping for years and will continue to do is all they have left to blame Brexit for.

UK seems to be working fine..
M please explain the subsequent investment by European/ROW multinationals in UK industry and machine/manufacturing.. (you can read into that what you will, and why they have picked the UK over say geographically NL/DK NW Ger/northern FR or Ireland), or with massive EU subsidies to parachute into Slovakia, Spain, Croatia, Romania, Hungary (etc) to fudge the unemployment numbers at the cost of the German taxpayers.
Value over Volume? Quality over quantity?
Investment on an island outside of a common market (of some 27 states and 7x the population), I need this explained to me as a strawman.
UK pushes Germany into 5th position, and is tops in Europe.

Maybe in that parallel universe where we didn't leave the Eu none of the catestrophic cock ups the Tories would have happened and we would still have had a moderate maybe coalition government. with a growing GDP and the nirvanah of better productivity therefore no need for tax rises. Everything is the fault of Brexit

The coalition government ended because the Lib Dems got their arse handed to them after reneging on their policy promises when power came knocking, there was also the promise to hold a referendum made, which knocked UKIP's vote in the GE on the head. Without that promise it may well have been a hung parliament at best, or even a labour government under the communist utopia of magic grandpa and john with his little red book.crankedup5 said:
Brexit - was it worth it ? hell yes.
Astonishing.A small consolation is that such wilfully stupid opinions are now in a clear minority in the UK population. But unfortunately, nothing can undo the damage Brexit has done to the UK in the past several years (wealth, economic growth, governance, reputation etc etc) and which will continue to stunt the UK's growth for at least a generation.
