We don’t get to play double standards with impunity. Israel was arrogant, stupid & reckless.
Of course we do because we can. Israel is by far the most powerful military force in the region and are backed up by the unquestioned global military superpower. What applies to other 'bad' people that aren't aligned with US interests don't apply to our allies.

The Israeli response will be interesting. Can't imagine it will be slow flying drones into a very well protected area.

Wouldn’t be like the Israelis to up the ante.

The best response will be for Israel to continue eradicating Hamas. Iran has its own internal problems and sanctions.

If it were doing that, ok. But it seems to erradicating Gaza in general, which is not ok.

Lots of reports this morning, not a 100% clear as to how successful the defence has been of Israel.
However they appear to shot the majority of drones down.
Looks like both US and UK forces were involved.

Definitely an escalation and will be intresting to see if the US responds in an way.

Gut feeling is Iran feel confident as Russia or others have said they will back them up.
I feel if another barafe is sent the US will send missiles into specific targets in Iran.

It's going to get intresting.

Iran are hard to like. The people of iran ive met however have always been great.

Looks more like a gesture from Iran not designed to cause any significant damage.

Both sides may be interested in deescalating the conflict, time will tell.

They do seem to be saying ‘mission accomplished’ and that’s the end of it.
Unless of course, Isreal respond with like.

It appears Iran is just trying to show to its allies that it’s no pushover, whilst also keeping it so toothless that any Israeli response is muted. Just optics.

It’s pretty disgusting that a country is terrorizing the Israeli civilians by sending a lot of missiles and drones into cities. It’s got to be terrifying to not know when you or your kids could be blown up by a missile dropped on your house. Even if you all live your life savings could be wiped out if your house gets destroyed by one of these drone strikes. Can’t believe this is acceptable to do to civilian locations.

Is Russia's primary objective not Ukraine?

If they got directly involved with Iran then would that not mean a fairly swift NATO response in Ukraine, which would seem them ejected rather quickly?

It's all proxy wars until someone crosses a line.

Iran has sent a message and tried to assert some sort of strength.

Netanyahu is probably straining at the leash, with the US keeping a hold on it.

Actually the targets of last night seem to have been military targets rather than cities and is not exactly a disproportionate response to their own territory being hit by an Israeli air strike.....

Welcome to Gaza, where it's been going on every day for six months.

Ideally, Israel will bomb the crap out of Iran’s drone factories and help prevent more bloodshed in two wars in one go.

Perhaps the majority Sunni Muslim countries surrounding Israel will be wanting the Israeli's to go for Shia Muslim Iran.

Because the ratio of human life is 1 to 20,000 for European/American/Israeli - I don't think it matters in Gaza until you get 50,000 deaths. Or a few Europeans die of course!

One could say the same about Israel. Which is a part of the problem.
