RizzoTheRat said: I once bowled someone out in the cricket net next to the one I was bowling at. He was as surprised as I was. That reminds me, on tenpin bowling I once managed to score a 9 on the lane next to the one I was supposed to be bowling on. This was in an interprovincial tournament too, much to my embarrassment. At that level you are expected to at least be able to hit the right lane! I unintentionally launched it, basically, and it bounced off the ball return tunnel and on to the lane next to mine.

Odie said: Id say that was average. It gets the job done Id be aiming for 1" grouping at that range with a glock. With either hand? I managed to blag a go with a 40mm Underslung Grenade Launcher some years ago. The standard ladder sight isn't that great, and it's a low velocity round, so on a 200m range you're firing it about 30 degrees up. We're were on lane 16, the squaddie who'd been using it told me to aim to the base of the tree above lane 12....and I was bang on target

Id be aiming for 1" grouping at that range with a glock. Wow - that would put you in the highest echelon of handgun shooters in the entirety of US law enforcement. Your ability to put 12 rounds at 35 feet, using both hands, into an area that is pretty much the same as the muzzle profile of the weapon makes you a world-class marksman. You are clearly in the wrong job. My daughter is a relative rookie, having never shot anything more accomplished than a paintball gun, until 2 years ago. She is now one of a small group of officers who are consistently good enough to get to carry one of these in the trunk of their cruisers. They tend not to hand these out to the average, get the job done, shooters.

I can consistently snipe (using my .177 Daystate air rifle) at flies and plastic notice board push pins from 80 yards up my garden whilst prone or seated. 4/5 would be hits on a calm day, but wholly depends on wind velocity and direction.
From 40 yards on a good day I get 10 shots inside a 5p piece sized target

To be fair, a .45ACP Sig P220 takes a fair bit of getting used to when you've only ever fired a .22 airgun before! Not sure who is the ugliest Sorry mat. It's not a case of ugly, its just that we'vs never seen him smile. Cheers up Mat you miserable b d! A smile would make all the difference!

On my first fire mission during my FOOs course at Larkhill I got a direct hit on my opening grid. Not bad for firing a gun which you can't see using a map and some binoculars

OP - I wouldn't be too unhappy with a 10 handicap, it's when you've slid from 10 back down to 15 that you need to start wondering why you bother. I can throw a t-bag into a mug from 60cm, pretty much every time, I make it look easy (I'm talking square t-bag non of your pyramid b ks)

Recently mucking around in the kitchen tried throwing a teabag (the round vareity) into the tea pot form across the room (~5 metres). It was quite a small pot but first throw, amazingly, perfect trajectory and straight in! Second throw - hit the rim of the pot, but didn't drop in. But, when I checked the pot, it turned that the first one was actually two teabags stuck together. Cue feelings of euphoria, teabag dunker extraordinaire

Attempting to get this thread back on topic and not just about shooting!
I give you Springsteen throwing his guitar to the roadie, who always catches it (a priceless instrument no doubt).
Do we have any massive fails in the ‘catch’ department (and not just rugby…?)

Not quite a catch, as such, but i did once throw my old Impreza round a roundabout at a fair speed one day, and watched as my mobile phone which had been sat on the dash board, exited the open passenger side window at high velocity. Felt pretty stupid.

Precision and accuracy are two very different terms. For example, to state Pi as somewhere between 1 and 7 would be 100% accurate but not precise.
