When has Blackpool been anything other than awful? Blackpool has gone uphill for a decade, so is now just awful, as opposed to feckin awful. There, both happy.

Another vote for Manchester, cracking night out, huge variety of places in a small area. I normally do one night a month there with clients.
Northern quarter has nice bars that dont cost the earth, city centre isnt short of traditional "old mans" pubs.
Plenty of boobie bars if that's your thing (doubt it would be with the budget, it would all be gone with door fee, pint and a dance!)
Avoid any of the chain places in town (Yates is the prime example, revolution another) and you'll be fine.
Throw in some karting or similar on one of the days and you're sorted.

Sorry guys the groom has ruled out karting, we've done that to death. Clay pigeon shooting maybe. MX5 drift day would be awesome.
Is blackpool really that bad?

One of the best I've done was half a day of deep sea fishing, followed by the afternoon/evening BBQing the catch on the beach with some beers and then a night out getting wrecked in the local town.

I'd look for somewhere suitable to stay (Manchester etc) and then look at booking events/restaurant in close vicinity I'm organising a stag do for my best mate, which will take place on the second weekend of June. There are quite a few people going and we're doing it over 2 days, as some people had to work Saturday morning ... We're racing twin-engined pro karts on an outdoor track (qualifying + 40min race), followed by a meal out, some drinking in town, and then Sunday morning we're clay pigeon shooting. I'm staying sober throughout, as I'm designated driver for both days, so I'm hoping I'll have an advantage on the clay pigeon shoot There are trophies involved; serious business!

I went there 6ish months ago and thought it was an absolute s t hole. Not really representative of Germany at all. Hopefully going to Munich will correct this.

Karting would be extremely lame. I organised a stag do recently. We went to Edinburgh and went sea kayaking in the day. The night before we had steaks & mussels and then got s tfaced, did the kayaking the next day and then went out and got pizzled again but this time mixed with getting my mate up on stage at a strip club and getting him stripped down and humiliated. It only cost £40 for the kayaking and £40 to get my mates flaccid cock slapped around in front of the club and pussy pops put in his mouth. I bought a mankini for 3 quid and on the kayaking day then we stopped off at a beach and he put that on and had to do some generally humilating stuff while the rest of us drank whisky. It was a good weekend and everyone afterwards said they had a great laugh.

Oh yeah, meant to add, Blackpool is the worst stag location I've ever heard. You need to talk to the other chums involved and get some ideas as at the moment your stag night sound like it's going to be extremely lame, which is not really what he'll be after.

Having just moved from Blackpool to Liverpool I'd advise you to avoid Blackpool, it's not the place it was 5 years ago. All the independent places that made it different are all closed and it's just a revolution and a walkabout with a few terrible strip clubs. Liverpool is a much nicer place and 10x better night out

When did a 'Stag Night' turn onto a mega-arranged, uber-expensive two-day event? I always remember a stag night as a big booze up round the local town. Or have we simply decided to copy another American tradition, like Prom nights, and Tuxes, and Limos, and Trick or f kin' Treat?????
