This is all well and good, but what do resident style gurus suggest as a head gear in a convertible? Personally, having a distinctively eastern european face, a flat cap just looks cheesy and if I wear a baseball cap people around start checking their wallets haven't gone missing hehe
A truly stylish gentleman would not be seen dead in a convertible. They are for the ladies and geriatrics trying to relive their youth
I think that's nailed that opinion once and for all thumbup

I am not sure what point is being made here, but if he were Dave the off-duty postman climbing into a Triumph Herald, would he still look stylish? Or would he just be a middle-aged bloke in a flat cap?
That is a truly stylish gentleman climbing into a convertible. QED.
He may have been a stylish gentleman and he may have been climbing into a convertible. But there are few cues in that photo that he is stylishly dressed.

Were he not a famous actor and that was an ordinary car I doubt anyone would be cooing about his stylishness.
totally agree. He is cool because of who he is, and also that's a very cool car. He's dressed in overalls with a fag hanging out his mouth - it's fk all to do with clothes!!

Let's put the "A truly stylish gentleman would not be seen dead in a convertible" myth to bed once and for all.

There's SO much bullst here that needs to be put to bed once and for all!

...I'm tempted to add "and a few posters while we're at it" but that wouldn't be very nice.

Which begs the question, was Michael Madsen stylish in Reservoir Dogs?

Back on track: what does everyone think about double monk strap black shoes for work with a suit? My girlfriend hates them but I quite like them. Too try hard ?

Now I'm wondering which posters TheJimi wants to take to bed.

In the Cheaney factory store the other week they had their imperial double monks down from £520 to £170 in my size. I couldn't do it, they're just not for me.

I currently have rubber soled Rockport black brogues, they are fine, a bit chunky but comfy, but I am starting a new job soon so think I need to get a shiny new leather soled pair for day one.

A pair of glasses and you have Harry Enfield “only me!”.

Now I do not think you wanted to do that...

I’d think you a bit weird wearing sling backs with a suit.

I might have an alternative view if you wore them with big signs attached to your knees pointing at your feet explaining what on earth you’re talking about. smile

Fair point - probably pinch the toes less. Could possibly be improved by replacing the buckles with Velcro though?
