Taylor fking Swift has been on the BBC headlines for a week now, taking more space than the most important global events that really matter.

Plus her thighs are just slightly SLIGHTLY too big for those costumes she wears. Just saying, IMO. Still would......

Thinking that Margaret Thatcher was a Great Leader who started off a generation of entrepreneurs that went on to create many small and medium sized businesses that are the backbone of British business.
I always think of the first verse of this classic Billy Bragg song - lines 4 5 6 and 7 in fact.

Take down the Union Jack
It clashes with the sunset
And put it in the attic with the emperors old clothes

When did it fall apart?
Sometime in the eighties
When the great and the good gave way
To the greedy and the mean

Britain isn't cool, you know
It's really not that great
It's not a proper country
It doesn't even have a patron saint
It's just an economic union
That's past its sell-by date
Take down the Union Jack
It clashes with the sunset
And ask our Scottish neighbors
If independence looks any good
'Cause they just might understand
How to take an abstract notion of personal identity
And turn it into nationhood
Is this the 19th Century
That I'm watching on TV
The dear old queen of England
Handing out those MBEs
Member of the British Empire
That doesn't sound too good to me
Gilbert and George are taking the piss aren't they
Gilbert and George are taking the piss
What could be more British than is a picture of me bum
Gilbert and George are taking the piss
Take down the Union Jack
It clashes with the sunset
And pile up all those history books but don't throw them away
They just might have some clues about what it really means
To be an anglo hyphen saxon in England dot Co dot uk
To be an anglo hyphen saxon in England dot Co dot UK

People who quote a whole song’s lyrics thinking they’re deep and meaningful when everyone else glosses over them because they couldn’t care less. Tl;dr;dgaf.

This ain't going to go down well with a few...

With the chronic under funding of many services in the UK like the NHS, Social care and many councils...why does the UK spend so much money on supporting Ukraine and Israel? Why does it spend so much on accommodating illegal entry asylum seekers?

Our own armed forces are crying out for money and investment yet we spunk a load of it on foreign affairs and housing freeloaders

I'll just go and get my tin hat on

being cynical... both countries' aid could be seen as weapons proving and/or proof of concept for various bits of weaponry...

Geo politics and allies. Ukraine is a means of keeping Russia at bay.

Social media should be banned.

As a species, we are still not evolved enough to handle it.

Unlikely to win any seats. Will deprive the Tories of seats. Very much so (existential) if Farage decides to become front and centre.

A split between socially liberal/fiscally conservative conservatives and the sort who are attracted to Reform likely to leave neither of them in power for a long time.

You should try reading poetry.

Actually no.

Don't.
