Bonnie Tyler, eat your heart out.

On second thoughts, no, don't do that; it would make a mess on the carpet.

Having slashed overtime rates to time and a quarter, they wonder why they can't find anyone willing to do overtime, and with not replacing people to save money it's all starting to bite.

To compound matters, the annual payrise is out and they've decided to give everyone the same money no matter how much effort one has put in. Only it's the same small monetary value not a percentage...., so those earning less get a higher percentage...

And they wonder why people are leaving...

Well that didn’t go 100% according to plan. My score ranged from 3 to 10. As we turned for home the heavens opened and the devil whipped up a cruel cold wind. I think the cloud seeding machine is permanently stationed in the North East.

I did however have some success swapping over my friends dead Corsa battery for new one. I pumped the tyres up as well so they can now move the car and start using it again. Unfortunately, his wife has had her leg removed from above her knee so the car hasn’t been used for a while but she’s getting a prosthetic leg soon so the car will be converted to use.

I have to say that removal of the Corsa battery is a right fiddle, you can’t just undo the terminals and remove a bracket. Stupid car designers.

Today, I have engaged a gardener to deal with the lawns and other items of horticultural significance, as your correspondent is without puff to deal with said matters, nowadays.

Fuller's Earth..... does it have magical properties?

Can't speak. Dentist too generous with anaesthetic. I wouldn't recommend them. Whye-Dopen & Partners in Trivton-Palsy.

Indeed it is, but one has to deal with the ongoing horticultural shenanigans at Pequod Hall less it becomes a wilderness, and no mistake!

Have you used Fuller's Earth, or possibly mining it at Chez Magoo?

I'll be honest and say peqoud, that I'd never heard of Fullers Earth so looked it up, it appears to get a review, and being a natural product is considered a holistic remedy.

Sorry to hear that, pequod.

Fullers Earth aka cat litter. Are you sure someone’s not taking advantage and palming off their refuse on you?

The military also uses it to decontaminate their noddy suits. I’d enquire closely regarding the provenance as this sounds like one of Battert’s more questionable barters.

But, equally, my father used it for his roses.

I told you it had magical properties!

My only interaction with the stuff has been with a concoction to degrease my fly fishing line, one part FE, one part washing up liquid, and 1.5 part glycerine. Marvellous!

I do, however, recall Pequod Snr using a preparation of FE to assuage the symptoms of them there piles, if I'm not mistaken?

Might try it on the roses...

There was no point in using hand signals; they couldn't see them as they were all absconding, the buggers!

My only piece of knowledge of Fuller's Earth is that it was used by nefarious characters for the filtration of red diesel in order to remove the red dye, thereby avoiding payment of fuel duty to HMRC.
Naughty naughty! nono
