He means the Indian Takeaway in Little Trivton.
You surely don’t mean that ghastly eatery next to the Ringburner and Roti (Wetherspoons) by the Corn Exchange that used to be the Black Hole of Calcutta? The one Environmental Heath shut down after the whole Rotary Club got the trots at their annual Ladies Night? The one Battert used to frequent for his Friday night strip poker game?
I'm afraid so. But we did manage to dissuade Guy Ritchie from making the film about it. He was keen.
yikes
I can't imagine the carnage that would have caused, can you imagine the reaction from the Greenfield girls at the mere thought of actors in the village!!!!

Should be a breeze, Bobbers, given your recent interactions with senior management. At least this lot have the chance of growing out of it!

But I do have visions of St. Trinian’s. Do you resemble Alastair Sim at allbiglaugh?

What, just the one? biggrin

I didn't notice you peering in, psi. wink
But it was quite dark and the windows were all steamed up.

And those WRAF girls from Air Traffic demanded a lot of attention!

I hate to break it to you, glenners, but there have been no WRAF girls in Air Traffic at RAF Trivton since 2021.

But, as you say, it was dark and the windows were all steamed up. Easy trap to fall into.

We're going to have to break it to Battert that he won't be eligible for the Olympics. As you know he rows every morning from the estate boathouse to Trivham Ferrers and, in so doing, has to negotiate four locks. To save time he uses the ramps beside the locks rather than filling and emptying the locks themselves. You see, it's not his physical fitness nor even his age that's the bar to him entering the Olympics, it's his language. And his profanities do carry so on the water. If he's giving vent by the Lock Keeper and Grockle, they can hear him for six miles in either direction. The IOC have their responsibilities to consider.

Ah, but this was back in 1969. And it wasn't Trivton, it was RAF West Trivnet.
And SACWs Vicky and Nicky were both very adept at handling RAF personnel on a mission.

:sigh: They'd both be in their mid-'70s now.

FRIDAYS. Hand made in Trivton-in-the-Wold by skilled artisanal craftsmen in the traditional Manor. smash

Hello and Gude Moaneve Fellow Trivialites. wavey
Welcome to this rather special, if a tad moist, POETS Day.
It also happens to be bin day, but not just any bin day.
This week the schedule encompasses three colours of bin in this burra here oop norf:
Green: Food and garden waste
Blue: Cardboard and paper
Brown: Glass & plastic bottles and cans

There is great potential on such a week for this number of bins put out for collection to create the Perfect Storm...
I am hoping that the bin collection operatives start arriving anytime soon to coincide with doting parents in their mahoosive SUVs and Chelsea Tractors and start clogging up the avenue as they bring their little Timmys or Chardonnays to the school at the end of the avenue.
I enjoy watching the carnage, the mayhem, the gesticulations, the remonstrations and the language that no tender infant should ever be subjected to.
The added complication of scattered bins hampering their customary pavement-blocking parking helps add to the total gridlock situation and also further exacerbates their furious rage and anger! rantingpunchargue

It's such an entertaining spectacle! rofl

I don't work Fridays biggrin

So today should be interesting. Friends coming for the weekend, but daughter has resigned from her job and they've kicked off. Says she can leave now, they won't pay her the wages they owe her, claims she has to give back the Touran they gave her.

The Touran was given her because it had been dumped outside the work, collecting parking tickets, going wet and mouldy and they thought they'd have to scrap it. I took it, serviced it, fixed all the leaks on it, cleaned it, fixed all the faults... probably spent a weeks spare time on it...

The reason she's leaving is they have expanded quickly for the money, but are staffing the nursary with inexperienced kids because they are cheap. They've lost other experienced staff, including one woman who had a people carrier she used for school runs, which is why I think they want that Touran back as they don't have anything currently.

Also they are trying to do it using personal cars, rather than buy a vehicle for the business. An they've just had an inadequate from Osfed.

She's a meeting this morning, she's asked what they want for the car and said she'd prefer to leaver on good terms.

However she could make life very difficult with a complain to the local authority and Odfed. I've said keep that and don't tell them that.

Oh dear, Byker. Just what you didn't want to hear.

Has she really thought matters through?

And have you invoiced her employers for all of your work on the "company supplied" Touran?
I imagine the total bill for parts and labour is quite hefty.
If I were you, I would impound the vehicle until the bill is settled! evil

To be honest Magoo, after the last couple of days of utterly inept, chaotic, disorganised behaviour I've witnessed from management at my place, dealing with these kids has been a breeze!!!

STeM = Science, Technology, engineering and Mathematics.
