i asked the chap if he could substantiate one single case, but it was always a friend of a friend who knew someone who said etc etc. Some more intelligent people will quote the T Dan Smith case back in the 70/80s where it was claimed Masonry was heavily involved,
Intersesting you mention T Dan Smith.Edited by silverfoxcc on Friday 28th November 22:59
He appeared on this excellent, if overlong, After Dark programme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aDmtK17gN4
A suspended Chief Inspector made some pretty damning claims and the journalist on that panel went on to write an expose on Freemasonry
But as you said, nothing was substantiated
Seems odd to be saying this, but Happy New Year would appear to be appropriate for this thread!
I have come into the possession of a large amount of regalia (aprons/collars/jewels etc etc) for Craft/Mark/KT/everything.
Before I move on what I don't require to a stockist, if any brethren require anything let me know.
It came from a dear source, so would like it put to good use.

As this long thread has bobbed to the top again, can one of you answer a simple question.
What is the point of Freemasonary?
I can sort of understand a bloke only drinking and dining club, but it seems to me to have bit too much baggage for it to be that simple. It certainly isn't going to further or accelerate your career as some seem to think it does as I have experience of masons working directly for me. Over to you....

dates back manyyyyyy years and some basic stone mason activities you do meet many people and many trades etc, meeting that many people will give the opportunity to open doors it also has its negatives......lodges need members to exist and it has been said lodges take any one who asks or been asked just to keep the numbers up rather than the so called ideal candidate. What is the point of Freemasonary?

I've been on the square for about six months now, enjoying the challenges and am lucky enough to be being passed next Saturday due to a few dropouts. I like tradition, fraternity and the unknown possibility of learning more, so I'm happy to be there.
For clarity I'm 34.
Good luck to all those being initiated, it's not for everyone but they'll soon tell you either way if you aren't sure.
