Might have accidentally gone away for my birthday at the end of April and then struggled to get back on track. BUT... my exercise is returning, my fitness getting better (still can't bust out a decent 10k in one hit on the rower, but have been doing 10k total every day). Feel good, mentally it's amazing what it does, just need to get the diet back in check. I'm day 4 of much improved diet - will update Friday whatever it says.

Newcomer to this thread. Currently 104.3kg and 178cm. I've always been overweight but I'm currently the heaviest I've ever been. I did couch to 5k before but basically gave up once I finished it. Now I do the following:
  1. Re-started couch to 5k, running 3 times a week
  2. Walk around 9 miles a week as part of my commute
  3. Play badminton for 2 hours a week
I'm struggling with diet. My work has an unlimited supply of chocolate, crisps and biscuits. Finding it difficult to ignore it but I'm working on that. Also a change in working patterns has resulted in me picking up fast food two or three evenings a week. Going to cut that right down to once a week max, possibly less.

My target weight is 90kg, quite an aggressive target, but we will see how it goes.

Hoping to use this thread as a bit of inspiration and motivation to keep me on track!

Yikes! A gain of 1.4kg over a couple of weeks. I'm back on the rowing machine 6 days a week and I'm hoping it's my body adjusting to the new 'normal'. Have been good with food this week and feeling good body & head with the increased exercise.

Still a lot of work to do!

Still 77.4kg, steady the last 2 weeks but I'll take it. Being that much closer to my "normal" weight of around 70kg means I'm not fussed about losing every week, would be nice but it'll get there.

Hi! Is it too late to join? 42, nearly 43, 6' 1" and too heavy - about 285lbs. Need to drop at least 3 stone really. Find running horrid but it seems I may need to dance with the devil... gym work i'm fine with but always hated cardio. Following various surgery's/injuries the waistline has given up a tad.

Anyhow, hope it's ok to jump on the bandwagon wavey

Welcome CW! Not too late at all!

Had a rough couple of months after doing really well early in the year. Work stresses led to eating a bit too much junk (craving sugar) and then a ski holiday in April put me on crutches for a while. Small food belly has appeared again, but now back on the bike, work came to a head, so now motivated once more to get back on track again.

0.6kg, but at least it's going the right direction.

Started a 'proper' 3-week training plan on the rowing machine and my times are among the slowest I've ever recorded. Maybe age (fifties) is playing a part. The rowing adds a definition to my upper body that is rewarding and I'm on the 'last' hole on the belt (just!), but I can't believe I'm still north of 100kg. 3kg to get back under. It does seem tough this year.

My weight really hasn't changed much over the past month. Just had a week away which has cost me a gain of about 0.5kgs which all things considered is not bad. So in the next week I need to trim that gain and resume a downward trend smile

Urk. Not weighed in for a month. In that time I've got treatment for the Graves diseases (almost instantly feeling better)

Downside of no longer being unwell...put on 5kgs in that month! fk!

Going to have to actually work on it now then! Good news is that now I'm feeling better I'm doing PT twice a week and just did a beginners Pilates thing this week that I actually enjoyed. Definitely have to look at my eating habits though, the thyroid issues have clearly been covering a lot of sins.

Edit: Just realized that's taken me literally back to the beginning of the year. So frustrated with myself!

Same here with Thyroid, diagnosed very late and I’m blaming that for the majority of my own steady increase over the past five years.

Started out around 106KG (but reckon I’d been a little heavier in the near past) and now currently 86KG, albeit after an upset stomach episode over the weekend (every cloud and all that…...)

Aiming for 80KG which might do me.

Have started doing gentle 6K runs, maybe 2 or 3 a week, enjoying them and don’t want to push it too much.

Would like to start back at the gym and firm up (not bulk up) what’s left.

Majority of weight loss is calorie restriction.

Do quite a bit of fasting now, drink more water.

After having the weekend with the “issue” above, I steered clear of food for a good couple of days and only really slowly reintroduced eating when I knew things had calmed down.

Certainly feels as though my capacity for food is vastly reduced so I’m feeling fuller longer.

Had a works meeting this week (remote worker) and a couple of women in our team have really lost weight, some via Wegovy and another via a similar drug via an online doctor since I last saw them.

One mentioned she dropped 5kg in the first week which puts the power of it into perspective!

I might look at that if I plateau again like I did for some reason at 92KG.

Anyone any experience of this route?
