I may have to have the top end one of these done..is it not done under an anaethestic, or do you just each the thing....?

Sounds awful, but glad you are having a bit of a laff about it now! ! Good luck with the results.
I had the mouth jobby done last month too and they used a spray and it wasn't too bad.

Today was under Sedation as they did 'both ends' and I must say it was a lot worse.

Not sure if the sedation didn’t work – but I was gagging a lot more and it was a lot more unpleasant.
As a veteran of about 15 endoscopies over the last 10 years I find that the unpleasantness is entirely down to the competence of the doctor performing the procedure. Until last year I had always had just the spray to numb my throat and never had a problem then at the last minute my appointment was moved to a different hospital (to clear the waiting lists apparently) and I have to say it was simply awful, for the first time ever I gagged horrendously and had difficulty even speaking normally for a good couple of hours afterwards; it felt like i had swallowed razor blades. I won't be letting that butcher near me again!

Just to clarify...

Was this in an actual hospital?

Or two blokes in an old LDV van, with 'Helf Cheks' painted on the side.

If the latter, you might want to consider Watchdog.

That's nothing!

I've had to endure shaving every day for the last 20 years.....that's real hardship.

Interestingly, the new bowel cancer screening programme will only go ahead in a given hospital trust after (amongst a range of checks) relevant clinicians pass a colonoscopy 'driving test'. So the DH themselves would appear to agree with you.

Why do you have to have a endoscopy? and can they not knock you out first.

I'm afraid there is no way i could have that done, can't even swallow tablets!!!

Shaking thinking about it

My sympathies to the OP - but having a camera thrust up your ring-piece is nothing when compared to having the Outside Broadcast crew ram one down your jap's-eye.

"Just relax" said the doctor with large cold hands as he took hold of my flaccid and rapidly shrinking todger.

Yeah....Right!!!

He didn't even try the "It's just a little prick" line

I assume they made you have a crap before they started? To make sure you were 'empty'.

Wonder how many times there has been an 'accident' and sprayed the Dr with something unpleasant... in fact I don't wonder at all...

Not for all the tea in China would I do that for a living.
Google 'agent picolax'.

Enjoy....

We seem to have missed Barium Enemas fron the discussions.
By god you get the farts after those. Nothing like shoving barium up your jacksie the way god didn't intend, and not pleasant at all. Passed out once.

Last time I had a colonoscopy, and the nurse shoved her finger up first, I said "shouldn't we go out for a meal first, or at least tell me your name".

Oh how we laughed. Nothing like smiling in the face of adversity smile

Oh I had one of those, thoroughly unpleasant. Although the bouncing and farting penis afterwards whilst trying to piss went a long way towards making up for it

hehe

Yesterday was empty day! First nasty drink at 8am and a whole day on the loo. Not a nice way to spend a Sunday!!
aaaah so you know all about the 'charm' of agent Pictolax wink

does anyone have the link for that thread?
