dylankx2502000m, 7 mins 0.8 secs, was aiming for sub 7 mins so less than 1 second off! I have no technique so believe me when I say it hurt - but I enjoy it!

I count the recovery metres too...prob better to have these as rest intervals and so metres during the 2osecond active spurts will be counted. Bloody tricky. But then again I've gone faster for 2k but at a steady pace. The sprints just excete all your energy. did the same set on the static bike..then my 5X5 stronglifts day 2...then to finish off 30 mins on rower at 1:59.8 pace. Feel weel and truely exercvised.
so my tabata distances will be only for the 20second sprint intervals. this could be another target for us!

Gah - off for another assault on the 7 minute mark
Mainly been doing long steady state stuff over the past week - going to try a lower drag and higher spm than my previous 2000m attempts.

Ouch. Thought I'd try the 5k and 2k distances to set a bench mark. Ouch.
The 5k yesterday wasn't as bad as the 2k today, but rowing is just plain torturous!
I do a bit of swimming/biking/running, but wanted to see how that translated to rowing. I really had no idea I could row 5k quicker than running it! I've done the odd 500m here and there over the years, but never these distances. Seems like a pretty good base, but I've not really got the time to train on the rower.
I think my technique was awful simply based on my lack of experience, so I might do a little bit more and have another crack at the 2k. I would imagine with better techinique and some pacing I could get sub 7. And it seems I'm amongst giants here, at 5' 9'' I'm nearly a foot shorter than louiebaby!!
Is that going to limit what I can achieve? I've never seen a short rower.

Out of interest are we doing the 2000m shots on the hardest resistance setting (i.e 10)? I have been for mine so far but I thought I'd check! I am in no way looking for tenuous excuses for my 8-9minute times. Oh no.

superkartracer said: About 12 mins for 2k... grim I wouldn't be much better considering it takes me 2mins for 500m, would probably need a minute rest each time to keep it up so 11min + I am far from fit though
