Bloody hell. That interview makes it look like Rodgers didn't really want him but he was only what was available last minute so took a gamble.

It would appear he's the only likely prospect in that dept. I'd have Hart but city will never sell.
Lloris is far too good for Spurs, I'd imagine him moving on sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately I think he'll be on his way at the end of the year unless a miracle happens and Spurs make the champs league.

I doubt Spurs will sell him in England though...PSG will be front runners.

Apart from the two at Chelsea he's the best in the Prem,

At least he gets loads of practice at Spurs, but i do agree he's far too good for us & should be playing for a better team & theres loads better than the Spuds.

It's not just about Balotelli though really. We're creating nothing. Lazer has done even less than Mario and came in for more money and Gerrard is a passenger. A good manager wouldn't be playing Balotelli up front on his own nor giving so much pitch time to a player like Lazer so early.

A great manager would have the balls to change Gerrard from an automatic 1st choice failed quarter back to a effective impact attacking midfield player.

I agree Lazer is doing nothing - cant see why atm all the Benfica fans and journalists rated him so highly - bit to similar to Coutinho for me but without the guile.

Lets be honest though its easy as a fan to say drop Gerrard - but i'm sorry drop him for Lucas is a big NO NO for me - he is even slower and less mobile than Gerrard..
Need to get Allen, Lallana and Sturridge into the team for me - which we shouldnt be crying out for after a big spend

I look forward to the 3 you mentioned being incorporated into the 11.

When Allen is back who starts though? Allen before Lallana?

Gerrard
Hendo Allen
Sturridge Ballo Sterling

For me would change on who we are playing - Lallana, Allen and Ballo to change depending on opposition.

That is a good thing to have. Lallana sitting on the bench at times and can come on and actually produce something. Just haven't had that in the past.
Really like Lallana me.

Based on the last two or three games I'd have to say Lallana is one of a very small group of players who has earned the right to be automatic first choice. He's positive with his play, good tactical awareness and his pressing has been good too. For me, between him and Allen I'd take Lallana at the moment.

Coutinho I'd only use as part of the front three. He has got the metal to battle it out in the middle of the field and he let his man run past him on numerous occasions against Basle.

Only problem with Coutinho is he doesn't score. I think we have got a player in Lallana who will assist and score, so will see more game time than Coutinho.
We have a lot of quality in attacking mid at the moment but there is no end product frown

True. I think with the midfield three we can have one that is more attack minded (Lallana, Gerrard), one that half/half (Henderson, Allen, maybe Gerrard), and then a more defensive sitting midfielder (Can, Lucas, maybe Henderson).

Coutinho should only ever be part of the forward three, along with Sterling and Markovic.

Not going to rule Ballo just yet though - I want to see him have a run of games with DS - He suits a partner so much more - especially with how much he likes to drift out wide, when we play with just 1 leaves us empty upfront when he does this.

I'm hoping Rodgers goes with two strikers tomorrow and we at least start to ask questions of the opposition defense. Another team full of midfield players will not deliver, surely the management can see that. Do you think Jagielka would have been sitting by the Liverpool area had we had two strikers on the field last week? I very much doubt it.

Isnt DS more likely to replace Ballotelli rather than partner him?
