I doubt it, have they put an updated eco boom in any of the passenger cars?

I’ve read conflicting views the engine was updated around 2020.
No one seems to know for sure though..

The 1.0 design considerably updated to the point many of the parts on the original eco boost are not compatible with the later version; I am not sure when this took place.

Picked an Active up today.
Drives well and surprisingly pokey for 999cc.
A little bit smaller in the cab than the Connect but still comfortable enough.

To the original post,
I presume you tried the current Transit courier and not the brand new one due in the UK in March?

Ford dealer told me demonstrators don’t arrive until end of Jan and new van stock doesnt arrive until end of March, the MPV version will be ‘summer’ time for first delivery,

That was the message before Christmas as we intend to get 2 of these vans to replace ageing Fiat Fiorinos.
Interestingly Fiat still sell the Fiorino van.
As previously mentioned, the new Courier is a Volswagen, built by Volkswagen, with VW part numbers all over it.

VW don’t have a van the same size as the new Courier.
It’s built in Romania on the same line as the Puma, as it has Puma underpinnings.

The new Transit Connect is shared with VW though.

Courier has nothing to do with VW

VW may sell a rebadged version in the future, but for now it’s purely a Ford

Test drove a Transit courier today, a bit too small for my needs but drives nice.

dealer tells me the maximum discount for cash is £2k.

So let's get this VW and Ford thing the right way round.

VW get Ford's commercial vehicles while Ford get VW's MEB electric passenger vehicle platform.

Hence, the new Transporter is the big (I can't figure out the names) Transit built by Ford in the same Turkish factory, while the new Ford Explorer is a VW ID.whatever. Not sure where it's built, but presumably in one of VW's factories configured for electric.

Apart from the new Transit Connect which is a rebadged VW.

Cologne is the Ford factory that builds the European (electric) Explorer.

Transporter quality will plummet once it’s a rebadged Ford transit custom.

Ford Turkish factory quality is not the best and there’s been some horror examples of badly built vehicles especially when it comes to paint and finish.

Is Transporter quality all it's cracked up to be? We have a 6.1 at work but I find the Custom to have a better quality interior with less squeaks and rattles in the cab.

I agree with the paint finish though, seen some shocking examples!

Ford have quietly pushed back the date of the passenger version of the Ford Tourneo Courier to May 2025 for the UK.
It was originally December 2023.
It’s due to problems at the Romanian factory, it’s taken them an extra 6 months to iron out production of the van and they don’t want to complicate matters by trying to add a right hand side build of the passenger version into the range.

The electric version is also pushed back to May 2025.
