I feel this one qualifies for "the plate's worth more than the car."

A couple of months back I followed this car, the plate is "LGB 1".

On the same journey I also saw "CZ 1" on a Merc on the same stretch of road a few hundred yards before this, but didn't get a photo as it was travelling in the opposite direction.

I occasionally see what I thought was H1 SPY on a mini near Tamworth. Upon closer inspection it seems that the "1" is in fact the most ridiculously cut down "7" you ever did see! I'll try to get a pic and put it up in the other place..

Hi All,

I just bought a Beetle with the number plate X1 RTL

I have been offered £1,500 by reg transfers but is there a better way to sell a number plate like this? I originally didn't think it would be worth anything at all so was surprised at £1500 but now I know it's worth something I want to get the most I can!

Many thanks for any advice (even it's just a link to teh correct place to post this!)

Welcome to PH.

Is that for them to buy it, is that what they'll offer it for sale at or is that what they'll return to you?

Personally, I'd give it a go on eBay, see what you get. Nice little plate, but not sure what its worth.

if that's what they say you will be returned in total that's a good offer.

Just saw: 101 R on some kind of Merc estate derivative near Rutland Water, which I thought looked good.

Interestingly in the same carpark I saw RR11 TOM on a FFRR which I thought looked better tbh wink

And here's one for the "other" numberplate thread - along the road from me is a van wearing a slightly-hacked TR07 ERZ.

Oh dear.

@FCK

Those are Irish plates, the first 2 digits are the year it was registered, the letter represents the county so 'C' is Cork and then the remaining digits are the number plate.

You would imagine X1 RTL would be a keeper for them (Reg Transfers Limited).

£1,500 is a decent offer imo.

If they are offering 1500 for it then they are probably selling it anywhere between 3k - 5k.

If you can market your plate well then you should be able to get more for it.

Is that really worth that much?

They only ever me peanuts for my plates and never want to actually buy them.
