wijit said: Gentlemen; with Ramadan almost upon us, is it worth me bringing wijit junior to London for an afternoon's car spotting on Monday? Any sign of our Arab friends leaving yet? It wouldn't surprise me if you were left disappointed due to Ramadan starting Friday; for example the orange Saudi-owned Aventador has left London for Paris.

V8LM said: Fun Bus said: This is the sort of geekery I like. Could you expand a little on the detail of it being one of the last and possibly a cancelled order? A later car with head-rests (so not early), wing mirrors attached to the A pillar (later), can't see the headlights but will be round not square, has a different exhaust and four centre dials not three (plus the alarm is different, blue-capped windscreen washer bottle, but the biggest give-away is the DVLA website that says it was first registered in 2000 and that is after the production of the Le Mans. This kind of post is exactly why I come to this thread. I want to see myself a Vantage somewhere stationary and just be able to whip out some knowledge like this and surprise the owner. A 355 GTS and a 430 in convoy. The 355 was LHD, 430 was RHD. Both UK plates. It was raining and I was driving hence poor photo quality. Good job it was raining though as it kept traffic below 70 so I could take my relative time with the 'pointing the phone' malarkey.

I thought the front didn't look like a 430. Whoops.

AndWhyNot said: Away from supercars and over to rarities, here's a Gilbern Invader MkIII. Just over 200 made over a few months in the mid 70s, I can't find any info about whether this V8 was a factory model or conversion. Looked to be in "daily use" condition, recognised it from across a local green but found myself quite liking the individual details of this model (front end arrangement, bonnet, skirts) rather than the earlier ones or V6s that's brilliant. I read about this car and company many years ago. Never saw one on the road though...

that and its time to go home soon and fast. You bet it is, not only is the tan coming on well but the amount of supercars down here is beyond funny. 2 weeks into my summer of Monaco and I've seen 7 Veyrons, 3 One-77s, 3 Koenigsegg Ageras, a Huayra, 3 Enzos, Gemballa MIG-U1, and I daren't mention the number of Aventadors and 458 Spiders. The combos get silly too: MIG-U1 and One-77 Mansory Stallone, MP4-12C and R8 Spyder Mansory LE MANSory, 599 GTO, California, 612 DB6 Volante and DB4 Aventador x2, R8 x2 SA Aperta, Aventador Aventador x3, X-Bow, LP640 and an SLR 722S hiding at the back It would be wrong not to include one of the Veyrons

Not great then! Don't know what to do for the best now, we were down there three weeks ago and he saw a reasonable amount, but since then the brightly coloured Aventador and Murcelago have been posted along with a one-77 and an Enzo! We seem to be the kiss of death on supercars, he has yet to see a 599 GTO too!

Monaco is about as tasteless and soulless as the Gulf, maybe they feel more at home.

There's no point, by then all the arab cars will have gone and even if you go tomorrow it is completely empty. A great shame. wait till Ramadan is over on August 21st (might be 20th or 22nd) and hopefully some cars will come.

The Nur said: I know it isn't a supercar, but I suppose that these days it does constitute a rarity. Even if it is just an Escort I think it deserves the recognition for the condition it is in. It is absolutely spotless. Spotted in Ystradgynlais Was it a Ghia? Very rare if so. Not 100% on the massive aerial though..
