Is the leather supposed to look that worn at 83k?

After spending a load of time in this thread I'm starting to think leather wear is as much about age as it mileage. It's a 15 year old car - leather ages.

If anything it just highlights the pointlessness of worrying about mileage on cars like this. You'd run a mile from mine unless it was 50 quid or something yet it's immaculate inside.

Lovely. Not sure it's a car I could see myself ever owning though.

£585 No offers? Is someone hoping that a bargist fancies showing up Olly?

you and i both know that will be a pile of st.

it mentions all the extras/standard features of the car but absolutely NOTHING on whether it even moves or any of the features work.
wow, you guys read a lot into an ad, it looks just like countless other AT Dealer descriptions of a trade in to me

Cool; but it would be cooler still in tobacco-leaf, with a boot-mounted spare.

Have you seen the thread in Readers' Rides?
The safari-spec car? If so then yes and I love it!

You looking to get rid of yours? You've not had it that long if I remember rightly.
I'm not actively marketing it for sale but do change cars frequently and I did intend to buy an E39 last time but ended up with the V12. I love it actually but I can always have another and I do want to own a E39 M5 at some point. Plus E65 745i's are getting temptingly within thread budget.... so much barge choice!

i'd love an E65...would have to be either a 745 or 750 though.....760 would be suicide hehe apparently they really, really moved the game on from the E38 in comfort, refinement, handling etc etc. i really want one frown

going to just service the E38 as and when it needs it, do what needs doing but nothing excessive and save up for one i think smile

That does look sensibly priced for the miles and considering from a dealer.

I am so tempted by another one but the wallet pillage that the last one cost me sort of soured the relationship, not to mention the moron 'specialists' who did not put the fan back on properly...was lucky it did not destroy the brand new radiator that they also installed.

These are looking tempting at less than £4k. I wouldn't have any concerns about a 100k+ engine in one of these, as long as it's been looked after.

Been drawn towards the Legacy, what do they go like? I hear they need servicing often and like a tipple

How long before these hit the upper end of the budget? Must be nearly within haggling distance, save a few hundred?

I've just amazed a workmate with ancient technology by opening my 528's windows from my office chair so I don't return to a furnace at 5. His Skoda which is worth the same might do 40 to the gallon but it doesn't do that rofl
D'oh!

I knew my E46 can do this but I've been going out every day to unlock the car, sit in it, key in ignition, lower windows, relock.

I now feel like a massive fool.

yes they can. when pressing the unlock button on the top of the diamond key, just keep it held down for a few seconds. likewise, if you take the key out when your windows are down, when locking, hold the lock button down and the windows will go up.

They seem excellent. I replaced ContiSportContact 3's with them because Conti SportContact 5 was not available in my size.
