Gingernuts said: To me thats not what cars are about, they are not static art. I would agree. Cars, by definition, are about movement and 'performance cars', about moving quickly. Aesthetics are obviously in the eye of the beholder but performance can be measured, as can performance modifications. Decently modified suggests increased performance to me. Stretch, stance, bags etc aesthetics. Whether there's room for both on this thread is debatable. just my opinion.

I appreciate the work that goes into any car but it doesnt mean its decently modified. Yes people say its subjective, and it is, but i just think its a waste of time dumping a performace car on its arse and making the wheels touch the arch. To me thats not what cars are about, they are not static art. Absolutely right there - a big stretch between carefully modified and decently modified. Stancers put a lot of work into what, ultimately, looks s te to me. I'd much rather see a car modified for increased performance or mild tweakery of the looks (i.e. a light amount of lowering and a bit of grill/wheel alteration) on already decent mobiles. i.e. Mk.5 Golf GTI that looks like this (although the wheels aren't to my taste): Rather than this:

I've been a long time lurker but thought it was finally time to join in. Not sure if this is a repost but here goes. I give you The Ferrambo. A 1960 Rambler Station Wagon merged with the DNA of a late model Ferrari 360 Modena

some joker told me my car was too low on here the other day. bearing in mind it doesn't bottom out or catch the arches, and rids 100 times better than my standard Z4 I don think its. its got to the point where people are just saying its too low with out understanding. its become a got too phrase around here with 'MX5 & remapped 335d' VR

<off into the depths of the internest to find so real cars untainted by this stance pish. Found any you can post here yet?

I think this looks fairly evil and purposeful (still unsure as to whether its trying to hard with black on black, and undecided on the exhausts).

Eh? as mentioned, I was ED38, mostly as a resource for parts for my VW race car (you'd be surprised what crops in the classifieds), and was making an observation of what goes on in there.
Hardly stretch, look very similar to the standard tyres on my 19's!
I am on clubGTi and have been for years. its an amazing resource full of proper technical guys and most proper, purposeful modification.

DanDC5 said: The S2000 is pretty much perfection, the other 2 are also damn nice! If you know the suspension on an S2000 that is way too low with the camber maxed out It will bump steer like hell Scrap the bumper & wing tabs in the arches Prematurely wear the half shafts and scrap the middle box on ANY bump
