Chaps. Had an offer on the Jeep of a slice of very small pork. A 924. Reasonably tempted, anyone know of any major problems?

Do it. would it be a worthwhile trade? the jeep is currently being used as a nice garden ornament. A small slice of VW/pork would be retro cool? surely and LT van engine can't bring up too much bork?

Suppose 924s of any vintage come in all different states of condition and one being offered for trade in against a well-used jeep is likely to be interesting. If it has ticket, starts and goes can't be all bad and surely one can do worse than a Pork drive ornament. Caveat - this is not necessarily a good idea.

Is it the 2.0 n/a version or the 2.5 "S"? If the former, check it starts properly warm and cold. They're a bugger for hot start problems. Don't worry about cambelts and so on - v v cheap job and the engine is non-interference. If the latter, check for recent cam belt / tensioners etc. About £400 job and this engine is not non-interference. Check sills and so on for rust. Check the pop-up headlights pop up (and pop down). Ermmm....
