Looks pretty good for £14k!

(not so keen on the view from the front, mind you)
yikes

fk me sideways that is cheap. 120k isn't sooo bad is it?
I remember a guy in the owners club was selling his Blue Tip for a similar price last year. 230k miles. Looked alright to my naive eyes though.

Would also make a nice upgrade for a cheap M5 with broken Vanos, but a good block.

Lotus prices are going nuts at the mo. There's a thread on the Lotus pages discussing a sudden increase in Europa asking prices- it seems if it's based on the Elise it's suddenly highly desirable.

Oh, we're going down in a couple of Pursangs to meet couchers who'll be handing over the 35 we have just purchased. Stopping at Moet on the way back. Hope the Royale support hack has enough boot space.
I want to buy the brown Volvo and take that.

I'm wondering if I've left it too late to get to the Classic this year as well as the 24hr...

Dear Thread,

Why do I find myself wanting this?

Good job it's in Scotland.

I went through a similar phase a few months ago.

Very easy to want, very hard to explain.

It would be ace (if a tad slow) for rocking up at the Le Mans Classic wouldn't it?

Chaps.
Had an offer on the Jeep of a slice of very small pork.
A 924. Reasonably tempted, anyone know of any major problems?

would it be a worthwhile trade? the jeep is currently being used as a nice garden ornament.
A small slice of VW/pork would be retro cool? surely and LT van engine can't bring up too much bork?

Suppose 924s of any vintage come in all different states of condition and one being offered for trade in against a well-used jeep is likely to be interesting. If it has ticket, starts and goes can't be all bad and surely one can do worse than a Pork drive ornament.

Caveat - this is not necessarily a good idea.

Not tomorrow but probably next week. Either that or one evening in the week locally.

Ummm... where to start...

Is it the 2.0 n/a version or the 2.5 "S"?

If the former, check it starts properly warm and cold. They're a bugger for hot start problems. Don't worry about cambelts and so on - v v cheap job and the engine is non-interference.

If the latter, check for recent cam belt / tensioners etc. About £400 job and this engine is not non-interference.

Check sills and so on for rust.

Check the pop-up headlights pop up (and pop down).

Ermmm....

Excellent advice.

Now... does anyone want to buy mine? It's got ticket, starts (usually) and goes!

Superb.

When I win the lottery I will buy a whole load of these time-warp motors and then drive them round as if I had just bought an ex-demo car in the 80s. smokin
