There's been hundreds down the years, but which one stands out for you as the most memorable? For me it will always be this invincible Top Trumps offering: 1970 Ferrari Modulo. A 5 litre V12 512S race car chassis clothed in Pininfarina's astonishing one-off futuristic bodywork. Sure it might be tricky to park at Sainsburys, but 42 years on, can anything else match it for drama?

Tricky, there's been so many, but in recent years the Peugeot 907 was my favourite. V12 front engined coupe - They really should have made a few. M.

The first place my mind goes when concept is mentioned: (sorry for the massive photo - but its the best angle I could find) The Ford GT90 Not exactly a favourite because I'd had a GT40 over it any day! Some times classics shouldnt be messed with maybe?

I was rather fond of the Jaguar F Type concept that was doing the rounds years ago.

Honda HSV-010 Should have been the new NSX, sadly it was just turned into a race car.

For me there are many, but I always thought that the Lancia Magia, was the replacement Delta we never got.

The Bertone Carabo: Set the template for every supercar since. Without it, we wouldn't have had the Lamborghini Countach, nor anything the Countach went on to influence. Looking at it it's hard to believe it came out in 1968 - it looks like something ten years newer at the latest, which just shows how influential it was. It was based on an Alfa Romeo 33-2 Stradale, so it was fully capable of being driven - very fast - down the road too.

deltashad said: A million times this. Purely because the interior is possibly the coolest thing ever: That said, anything from the big Italian design houses around this period is just pure gold. The Carabo, as mentioned is an utterly stunning car also. I even have a soft spot for the Navajo, just because it is utterly bonkers:

It would also have been a fantastic NSX successor IMHO: The new Acura NSX concept looks like a students fantasy design project rather than something edgy but timeless that will look good for a couple of decades... Honda, please do a proper NSX comeback, please...

On my phone, and 3g is iffy at the mo, so no pics, but...
As a kid in the '80s, I thought the MG EX-E was the dog's whassnames: mid-engine, six-pot from the 6R4, 4WD, futuristic (at the time!) looking glass canopy... NSX seems to owe something to it, certainly stylistically.
More recently, the Mazda Furai has me daydreaming occasionally in a "what if" kind a way...

Good call on the GT90. I used to lust after those. I have fond childhood memories of the Renault Racoon too (although it wouldn't look out of place in a supermarket carpark now) Amphibious, futuristic front opening, bent in the middle for more ground clearance and loads of other cool stuff that concept cars should do.
