Yeah, I have some lovely little drives that I used to do in the Corsa planned out already Many little backroads around my area, besides I often take trips to the highlands with the climbers had a lot of fun out there in the past

My only issue with it is that it may be the only car duller than my old corsa, I mean, at least the Corsa enjoyed falling to pieces so I could get my hands dirty fixing the bloody thing As it stands all I'd get to do to the Micra is change the brakes, secure the doorcards, get to work with some touch up paint, pop out a couple of little dents, and and give it a service before the MOT is due. Only a bit of banter, i didnt really like the micra much, but my old neighbour loved his & it was massively dependable/reliable for him & he only paid peanuts for it. The micra seems a good option for you in this situation.

Its only by driving something crap when you are young that you can appreciate something moderately less crap when you are older. Be safe in the knowledge that when you can afford a super car the insurance will be cheap as you are so old.

Depends what the fuel economy is like really - work out how much it'd cost per mile and subsequently per month/year rather than getting hung up on the slight extra cost per litre.

Lanby said: Roadtrip in Micra: leaves £1500 for hookers and booze I know where my money would go The best advice so far.. Never look a gift car in the grill. People may laugh or scorn you for driving such a car. But at the end of the day if its only fuel an insurance costs, its a win win - until you have the funds to get there in something quicker, getting there by a cheap car is a bonus - without using pubic transport... I had a battered old renault 5tl for a while as I could not afford anything else. Drove thousands of miles in it and nearly got what I paid for it selling it to a mate!

When I was younger, I was grateful for anything with 4 wheels that moved. Are people today so spoilt? Any car can be agreat fun car and the less capable, the better.

She'll be getting it back unless i give her the money for the car instead. P.S if I sound ungrateful, I'm not... I just fancied something more exiting for my third car, 2 corsa's and a Micra is a depressing start no?

Tip from someone who made an arse of it and ended up with something even more boring on finance whilst at uni: take the free car and enjoy not being EVEN MORE skint than you already are as a student.

Keep the mirca, it's cheap motoring for a few years while you do Uni and once your older with cash you can buy something better than all the current options.
Boring route I know but short term pain, long term gain.

I am grateful for having the option, and I'm not complaining as such(I realise it may sound that way), if it helps i bought and paid for my previous cars by my self. I only wanted something a tad less mundane
