Baryonyx said: I am not convinced the heavy, complicated Haldex system really offers anything that a permanently engaged dedicated differential doesn't. I suspect that what it offers over a permanent 4wd system is mostly lower frictional losses when 4wd isn't needed.

I rather like that Alfa interior, but then again I am used to sitting in these two interiors. I know that many people find them bloody horrible, but they aren't dull and they make me smile. I certainly prefer them to the universal silver German car with black leather.

What's the point in using carbon fibre reinforced plastic for small bits of interior trim in 1500kg cars? Even more so, what's the point in using fake carbon fibre reinforced plastic?

should be polished alloy or carbon The trim on the steering wheel, door cards and above the glove compartment is actually anodised aluminium, at least it is on the 159 which has basically the same interior

Dave Hedgehog said: Pat H said: They may have slightly wonky build quality, the brakes may be crap, the handling might be a little ragged and the ground clearance and turning circle may be a joke. But the Alfa has more style and class than anything ze Germans have ever produced. And you get that engine. I've owned a couple of 3.2 V6 Alfas and they are very special. Compromised, overpowered, frantic and demanding. But quite magnificent. Totally lacking the ruthless efficiency of the German and Japanese opposition, but surely the most stylish of hatchbacks. perspective, all i see in that alfa is a slab of ultra cheap silver painted plastic and a very gay / confused boat interior, its vile the V6 is a gem thou, and the brera gorgeous on the outside now this brera interior is very nice, loose the silver plastic for some carbon and it would be near perfect Err just no! The Brera might have a nicer interior but its over weight and doesn't get a proper Alfa V6, (it also has a poor seating position). The 147 GTA on the other hand, gets a real Alfa engine and is a whole lot more special for it.

A3 8P 3.2 DSG/S tronic with Blistein PSS10 or KW V3 and H&R Anti-Roll Bars. It's always made my G8yman feel a bit over-rated.
S3 is great, but imo V6 has a better throttle response and sounds a little more melodic.

Does anyone reckon that the MkIV R32 will eventually appreciate? Or will it just degenerate?

They are just fatty tissue and glands with a nipple ontop I like breasts as much as the next man, but sticking a pair of knockers on the dashboard would no more make my car into a woman than sticking on a few fillets of carbon fibre reinforced plastic would make a family hatchback into a racing car. Can't manage the suspension of disbelief, I'm afraid.
