AJ-T said: Engine at 10,000rpm screaming bhaaaaaaaaaaaaaap, but to go faster they down shift into 3rd gear!
Honda Civic now rivalling a Honda 6 racing motorcycle from the 60's 18,000 rpm and really screaming, Bhaaaaaagggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhp - gearbox falling apart, pistons coming through the bonnet yet it still accelerates faster than when in the previous gear when it was accelerating hard! -
Carlsberg don't do gear changes but if they did, they'd be like this or like Fast and the Furious!!! (only in a movie!) I recall seeing somewhere after the first film came out that the three civis had actually been dubbed over with motorcycle engines. Presume that's why they sound awesome rather than like civics.

La Liga said: Pulp Fiction - Just the Swearing! IMHO a much more amusing video - I really did LOL - I also saw this "advertised" by YouTube at the end of the F+F clip and immediately embedded it in the family blog, then came here to see whether it had already been mentioned - but you didn't tell everyone what it is!

Have any of you seen Initial D, it is similar to F&F but they don't use any camera tricks or other special effects. Just real driving and a fairly good story. It is in Japanese with Subs but it is worth a watch if you like Jap cars and REAL driving!!!

Ive seen it before and its pretty good, nothing as cheesy or chavvy as f&f but then again its no where near as funny as f&f.

Agree with person few pages back or so, all the films are "suspend belief" films, and just enjoy/have a laugh. Life is too serious sometimes! I love them - ok I'm a "yooof" but simply as a bit of fun and cars whats not to love?!
Initial D is a great film too! A bit cheesy some say, but highly recommended!

Initial D is a great film too! A bit cheesy some say, but highly recommended! I was given a 'day off' for my 39th birthday and non of my mates were around so I ended up watching the 1st F&F film at the cinema. I loved it and 11 years later I still love all of them, well apart from most of 2 and Drift. Maybe I'm pretending to still be a 'yooof' Oh! the reason that no one was around was that the wife was organising a massive surprise party, somewhat ruined by me getting pi55ed in a pub after watching the film before returning home.

I can't believe this one slipped the net until now. What a set of terrible yet awesome films, I have an urge to watch them through again. I was 11 when the first film came out, and I must have watched it 100+ times. Some of the 1 liners are brilliant, but you can't watch the films in anorak mode or they are ruined. I noticed in Fast 5 you never once see a brake light To justify the Eclipse 7 gears scene, they cut to a short from outside the car, I like to imagine they are showing a replay of the previous few seconds from the exterior, so you see the same gear change twice Also, the "danger to manifold" part, apparently initially they wanted a NOS bottle to come loose and spray the windowscreen, freezing and cracking it (which would have been more realistic) but wasn't Hollywood enough. Whoever made the decision to change it needs a punch
