Now I've read the thread correctly and taken the friendly advice from The Douche, BBS Pescara on an Edition 30 Golf

How about an aftermarket wheel that somehow became associated with only 1 car?

Did anyone ever see speedline allesio wheels on anything but a Corsa?

I'd associate those with a Nova to be honest, maybe I'm just old!

I nominate these:

I'd associate these with a W123, but I'm aware that others may associate them with other models:

Got to be the BBS RS/RM.

Timeless looking wheel

fitted to everything from a Porsche 911 to a Mazda MX5, to a rusty old Golf.

(okay not a rusty golf)

Most Mercedes wheels from the 60s to mid 2000s.

- The classic colour coded hub design.
- The 'Mexican hat' alloy
- The 18 hole manhole cover alloy
- The classic AMG alloy.

was it the 928 that had the polished alloys with a p shaped cut out round the edge? Anyone know the wheel I mean?

Which was really just a Turbo Trans-AM with sign writing on it, so close enough to get the point. smile

There was a Golf Gti Pirelli special edition which had the 'P' wheels.

The 928 S2 were similar in design.

A very rare 2.8 injection.

Although usually adorned any range topping Ghia model...

But in white? I can't remember seeing many in white at the time.
From memeory the rare 2.8i models all had white wheels. The 2.8 Ghia and Ghia X were more conventional silver.

That's the one I was thinking of...P for Pirelli, makes sense now!

I think you are right, they did exist in limited numbers, but looked woeful.
