So many cool french cars that I wish were here in the UK, I'm sure if they put more effort into the UK they'd have been more popular then german cars right now. FIat barchetta Far as I am aware they only sold these here in LHD. coupled with the FF/front wheel drive layout it just could not compete with the MX-5. I think LHD was the main thing that killed its sales here.

Really like the Barchetta. I could well be tempted to chop my MX5 for one if my company sharesave returns a decent amount - LHD and a bigger boot would be a real bonus for Euro driving holidays.

BMW M5s with a manual gearbox (USA-only for the E60 and F10).
They have been engineered. They exist. Marketing stops them being sold here.

PJ S said: Type R? Is there? Would've thought the Type R moniker was pretty much the sole preserve of the Honda cars. Type RA I'm aware of, and Spec B, iirc? From my time on Scoobynet I know the Subarus came as Type R in Japan. I think they were lighter and had the dial for suspension settings. On Subarus, the classic only came as a 2l in the UK. The US version was 2.5l. More power and potential as standard.

They are massive, drink fuel like nobodies business and not particularly well built, but I want one, a proper right hand drive one (though I believe they are converted and sold RHD in Aus). If I told you that they actually get 20+ MPG and tend to last 300k miles in NY City livery service would that make you feel better? Look on the bright side, since the vast majority of you guys are in the UK, you could import any of those cars. Those of us in the USA don't have that luxury. It's surprisingly quick, I never understood why Europe gets the GS300, they're sluggish things and the 350 hauls butt and it's no worse on fuel. It's incredible in heavy snow, but the usual Lexus steering feel that's reminiscent of chocolate pudding and mushy suspension mean its not lots of fun to drive.

I've also always wanted one of these: A few American PHers have since told me they're actually s t but I still want one. Everytime our parents took us on holiday to the States and to Florida the Dodge Intrepid is what the rental companies would always give us.

I remember the concept version of that, it did look great and a lot got through to the final car except for the big wheels and high back end. The Americans did a lot of good concepts in the 90s and early 00s... this, the Dodge Copperhead (Viper Jr.), Cadillacs, Plymouth Prowler, Dodge Viper, Dodge Slingshot. A few of them got produced too.

If you can live with LHD, they're easy enough to find and import from Europe, so no SVA faff. It does mean £450 a year tax though on the V6. Personally this seems more grown up than a 370Z. £16k with delivery miles anyone? http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=21692137...If I could live with LHD, I wouldn't be posting it, I'd be flying out to pick it up. I love my GenCoupe, it's sooooo tail happy it's just ridiculous!

Dodge also made the 3500 Mega Cab for those wanting a bigger truck. I had a car transporting company delivering a (small) car and the driver said the MC is so long that it was only possible to load one MC and one normal Ram on the transporter. Still, the 3500 diesel dually four-door does appeal to me......

The US 2.5RS was only NA and made about 170hp, although there was a whole cottage industry clagging turbos on. When the bugeye 2002 WRX was announced for sale in the US, there was collective jizzing, and Subaru sold 18k in the first year, on expected sales of 12k. I bought one as I was living in Texas at the time. Is it true the next gen Mustang is coming here?

Did what it said on the tin. Big cheap comfy saloon which got reasonable MPG. Mine had a 3.5 Litre DOHC V6 powering the front wheels. Could be "interesting" in the wet when you floored it. I'll post a few pics when I get home.

If I see it again I'll let you know.
