I feel for you mate, I had someone try and scratch a (gangsta) tag on to the bonnet of my Saab. I am just lucky that its 10 years old and I dont have to care about it. Plus when I drive around now I feel like Im a gang member. Provides added affect to my Gangsta Rap sound track too.

Gutted for you mate. I had mine keyed outside my parents one night. Came back to it with zigzagged key marks for about 12" over the rear quarter.

IME, the little moments where someone pulls out in front of you or doesn't give way at traffic calming to villages etc where one would normally call the other driver a cock seem to come back to bite you. They note the car (if it is relatively rare) or the reg and "get you" the next time they see the car stationary or by luck see where your journey ends and come back later.

I now try to think the stty remarks in my head instead of getting in to anything which can get more serious.

Back to the bodyshop, I used to have a policy with Elephant and you could ask that they send it to a bodyshop of your choice, though I assume there's some sort of catch with that though. Phone and ask.

Hope you get it back to A1 nick. Lovely car, a shame to see it like that. frown

Do you really believe that to be true? I can't see it tbh.

Why can't you see it? I can't see why anyone would kill someone for no reason, but it happens. frown

I may be a little paranoid having experienced the OP's issue, but why wouldn't it happen? Sure people vandalise vehicles for fun, but from the number of people you hear of who follow really close with general cock-like behaviour, there is a malicious streak in more people than you'd think.

Regardless, I'd rather not risk it. smile

Sorry to hear about this and I haven't read all the replies but IME a single scratch is scumbags.

To do every panel is personal.

Either someone is getting at you or they mistook your car for someone else's.

I believe this is the case, especially in your local area. People definitely harbour grudges for the most inconsequential things so once they suss out where you park your car it's an easy, low-risk way to get back at you. More so if you have to park on the street.

While I agree with LandingSpot, I also things there's an equally high chance it could be plain old jealousy as the OP said the car was freshlu washed and looking lovely.

It's a wonderful country.

Please find the people who did this to your car and serve some serious VBRJ.

Such a nice car too frown
I doubt very much that they will ever be caught, and even if they do get caught - a slap on the wrist for £3-£4ks worth of damage?

Funny old world we live in
Sorry to hear that about your car. My own car had its front wing kicked in for no reason in Bournemouth. I even made sure that I didn't wash the car so it didn't stand out. It's seems like pure jealously. I really hope that you can get some CCTV footage so the scrotes can get caught.

My brother has just bought an E92 3 Series coupe, even that has a few key marks on it, Luckily there aren’t that bad and I managed to polish it all out. Looks like this now.

Hopefully before you know it the car will be like new again. smile

The more I think about it, it must have just been a random act of vandalism.

It was in an area that I havent been to for a while.

It was the last car before there were total parking restrictions, so anyone walking from that direction would have seen it a mile off. It also had a mini SUV type thing infront of it, so it was pretty covered.

The lucky thing is a group of unsavouries, maybe even two just did it for a laugh or just for the sake of doing it as its a nice car.

I've spent the last few days trying to re-trace everything and look in to the past to see if I upset anyone. Cant think of a single scenario.

Whilst way back in the past I may have done something to upset someone, I would imagine they would have cooled off in that time.

I think the lesson to be learnt here is to try and park in a well lit place with people around or outside lit shops.

The harsh reality is that this will happen again to innocent people who work hard to have nice cars, if a scumbag wants to damage your property, more than likely he will.

It genuinely scares me that this is what UK has become, and my mother visiting for christmas has spent the wholenstay trying to get us to move back to UK.

I think I would get an ulcer with the nerves just thinking what may happen to my cars!

Op, my sympathies and lovely garage!

It was at the top of Annandale road which meets Chiswich High Road, there is a Chesterton Estate agents on one corner, and a Barclays on the other corner. I parked on the side of Chestertons about 4 car lengths away from the High Road

Right..

I can take it to BMW - either Berry or Sytner - who both outsource their bodywork.

Or I can take it to Bodytechnics Ltd who are Porsche, Ferrari, Aston, Maserati Etc approved.

Meant to be the mutts.. Mixed reviews - but nothing negative on quality, negative reviews come from time it takes and lack of communication.

I can't help but think it's all due to the charming image of BMW in general. I think you are simply put into that bracket when deciding to buy that make of car. Not ideal someone should do this of course, but I doubt it would happen to other brands - Volvo, Lexus, Jaguar, etc. Or would be far less likely at any rate. I have witnessed a fair bit of abuse thrown towards BMW's - shouting, fist waving, horn tooting, that sort of thing. Of course it may well be suitable in many situations hehe

OP doesn't own a BMW wink

Ok, so many people may think it is, but hand in your PH membership if you did. wink

I do know that part of Chiswick well, often park there to go to High Road House. Next time, I'll make sure it's outside the police station.

Not sure about a chance Jealousy situation, are you sure you or your car hasn't upset someone? Ex girlfriend, overtaking chavs, noisy exhaust, throwing fag packets out the window?

I would think tyre slashing is predetermined and random vandalism could involve several cars. Tyre slashers for fun normally do more than one wheel and whole streets looking at news articles, nutters.
I've had my tyre slashed, and I'm certain I'd upset a chav with an overtaking manoeuvre on the way to work (I guess a form of jealousy) One sidewall was punctured just the same as yours, our works car park took a bit of effort to get to and was unlikely someone in the office.

Also had a car keyed down one side, pub car park was full so parked in a side street opposite some old mans gate, found out later he had a bit of a history of having a go.
Also had a deep small scratch put in my last car's roof, pretty sure that was an ex girlfriend.
A mate had his car paint stripped on the roof and rear 1/4, he reckoned that was Jealousy, but he had a very noisy exhaust and was an inconsiderate t### at night. Told him so, but its made him worse if anything.

Although all of the above is minor to lending my car to my girlfriend on a regular basis.eek
