I know it's obvious to say that the market will decide, but with 2000 of them that's half the number of 991.2 GT3RS and probably around the number of 997.2 GT3RS ...

Hardly limited ... at this price level.

I suspect Porsche continue to sell to the same big hitters and are not concerned about the flipping at all , despite them saying so . it helps create the aura and the cars are used less so the aura is further heightened like any number "restricted" commodity .
This is business and it works as was mentioned by Maura above .

Its not rare at 2000 of them, having looked at and seen running in the usa,i was very underwelmed by it.Shame its picked up the name of the iconic st,its about as closely related to a st as a beetle is to porsche.
Imo At least the one for sale in germany has a classy interior and no daft race numbers.

New one listed!

That has knocked £100K off Romans hopes! - this now sets where the market is.
Seems ill-considered for a flipper to at least not establish what Romans want and then go a bit lower - both parties have shot themselves in the foot!

This feels like a few of those who have 'played the game' with their OPCs and taken their fair share of loses on Taycans and Macans etc. to get the S/T allocation seeing the opportunity to 'cash-out' once and for all and jump off the merry-go-round...

Not drive as i was not allowed, but passenger.Best part is the gearing, otherwise looked very gt3.At rrp its ok,but at anything above 300 k look what else you can buy.
The manual gt3 revs slower but more than good enough for the road, the gear selection is the best in a porsche I have experienced so far,a great value car at half of a st!
500k is just daft, maybe they are fishing for the wealthy far east customer, where alot of these cars end up.

Without a doubt. I have a friend who has spent £6m in recent years with the local OPC, including a ridiculous amount on Macan/Cayennes to get onto the exclusive products initially, who recently sold his 992 GT3RS independently (after offering it back to the OPC initially).

He has quite a collection still, a couple of 991R's, a 991 Turbo S Exclusive, a 991GT2 RS, a 993RS, a 997 GT3 4.0 RS, etc, etc, along with much more 'none Porsche' cars, and think he's just sick of the whole new car thing now and is sticking to the older stuff where you can go out an buy whatever you want if you have deep enough pockets.

Personally, I love Porsche products, but think they are losing their way (like many others). My OPC knows my interested in the forthcoming gen2 992 GT3, which I highly suspect I won't be offered a slot, but think that will be the point at which I decide whether to move away from Porsche. I have no interest in the Macan/Cayenne/Taycan which they make, so won't/can't play that game, so if I can't buy the car I want/can afford then clearly its no longer for me.

I don't think that many people will have and I certainly haven't .... but the spec of the 911ST isn't that different from the final spec of my much modified 981 GT4 ... yes it was very very nice, but we are really starting to cheese-pare niceness, and it cost £45k on top of the list price in 2015 ...
It was also specified to shrug off very determined track days ... which it did amazingly well at minimum cost.

By comparison my 991.2 GT3RS is a beautiful thing and will remain intrinsically standard ... it already has all the good stuff that would have been a step too far on the GT4 and for track work I would have it in preference to an ST ...

Just took delivery PTS ST, having own/d along with a few other Porsches, i can honestly say the ST is a utter blast of an experience!

I was concerned of lack of RWS, but honestly, you feel what the car wants to do and i am glad it doesn't have it

The Clutch chatter when depressed is sublime

Engine pick up is awesome, just how i want my 911 to be

BUT the stand out piece de resistance... the Chassis/suspension is a game changer, its night and day compared to my 992 Touring, my car has the Corsa's which is a new tyre for me as all other GT's i have Cup2's, i was hoping for Corsa's

There may be 1968 World wide, but bear in mind not all UK OPC get a car, some get 1 car, some get 2nd car 2025 with USA taking the majority, i would say in UK they will be hens teeth for sure as i know of 3 now inc the 2 above mentioned

Congrats - any pics..? And any other details on the comparison with your Touring (I own one too) would be interesting to read.

Another thing, curious to know whether you have had to sign the Porsche lease doc effectively stopping it being flipped in the first year of ownership?

Cheers thumbup

Sure.. having watched all the Youtube regarding the internal noise being too loud, this just isn't true, in the touring i needed to wear ear pods to take a call, but the touring on Michelins whereas the ST is on Corsa's

Like i say the lack of RWS i don't miss for road driving at all, again this was a concern but no worries there

Not that i listen to the radio, nor did i for the first 200miles i drove as the engine noise is sound lovely what with the gear shift that it makes it a pleasure to downshift, i do struggle with large feet so heal and toe is a bit awkward! but getting there

It is a shames the tech's were not allowed the time to hone the Touring as they were the S/T...

Congratulations, great to hear from a happy owner. I am expecting my own PTS S/T to arrive before too long as well. Good to know it's meeting your hopes and expectations!

It's amazing what a set of decent dampers can do ...

There's no doubt that the ST particularly with heritage pack looks a very nice place to be. Enjoy.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the only changes over the Touring set up were in the chassis software - as opposed to different dampers..?
