Love the wheels! The red interior is brave but I like it. Still Mulling said:
You're making me feel more comfortable about considering an Ioniq 5 instead of a PHEV for my impending car change. What kid of efficiency/range did you yield on the tour?
Overall around 2.7mi/kWh I reckon. That includes a bit of high speed autobahn and a lap of the 'ring.
Coming down from the top of the Stelvio pass, we generated 9% battery over the first 33 miles and it took a further 22 miles to get back to the 82% we had started on!
10 months in with my M3P, had it's first clean in about 4 months. Came up alright!
Pretty pleased with the colour combo. Need to do a bit of work on it though, wheels need a refurb and some sort of smart repair for the front bumper after a runaway bin incident.
It's an everyday work/family car so these things happen!

That’s lovely. Assuming some great deals on the run out ones?It is.....................bloody fantastic
Not been on PH in years, so apologies for that!
We've got 9 vehicles in total, but my daily since April 2021 has been Evie, a Mamba Green Vauxhall Mokka-e Launch Edition.
She's our first EV and has been great. Did a round trip with the kids from Nottinghamshire to Shropshire and back yesterday, averaging 3.9 miles per kwh, so not too shabby.
Looking at various options to replace her in 6-12 months as I need a bit more boot space, options in our budget include the BYD Atto3, Kia Niro & new Renault 4 & new Vauxhall Frontera, although I need to see the last 2 in the metal instead of 'spy pics' on the Web.

The performance models are becoming quite tempting as they start to drop to the £25k- £30K range, LR very appealing too as it seems to be best of both worlds?Pretty pleased with the colour combo. How have you found it build quality wise, as a family car it must get abused a little bit?

Yes it does a bit, I do quite a bit of work milage too. It's been fine, I had the spoiler changed under warranty (lacquer peel) and a rear light (water ingress) . But truthfully if it was out of warranty I'd have been happy leaving them. How have you found it build quality wise, as a family car it must get abused a little bit?
There's a couple of rattles but I suspect that's the kids car seats than the car itself. The wheels are made of chocolate too. I suspect an LR would be better for this.
Supercharger network has been brilliant too.
I wouldn't hesitate to have another.

The Honda e has gone, replaced by this. If you're wondering why I've ended up with a car three times the size, it's because it's also replaced a Skoda Superb estate!
So far it's fine. The lane keeping is very intrusive and not easy to switch off, but other that that it seems to be doing what it says on the tin. Winter range seems to be about 220 miles when taking it easy, 180-190 when caning it with everything on, and maybe 250+ on a mildly warm day.

No rattles in my ‘22 unless the kids seats are in the back. The newer wheels are still made of chocolate, and appear to stick out further than the tyres so the wife is an expert at finding kerbs with them. There's a couple of rattles but I suspect that's the kids car seats than the car itself. Also, red is easily the best colour.
I’d not hesitate to have another, though I’m probably going to hold out for a Highland Y.

I do a fair bit of driving for work and the roads are so bad that I cringe with 18 wheels on my BMW (much lighter than a Tesla). My neighbour cracked 2 x 19 alloys in the past year and as much as I love a big set of wheels, for daily stuff the smaller ones on the LR Model 3 make much more sense and the performance is still huge even on that.karma mechanic said:
Very nice Ioniq 5, same as mine!
For us lane keeping gets switched off as part of the getting ready process, like putting on seatbelts... just press and hold the steering wheel button for 3 seconds and it's gone. Becomes second nature after a few drives.
Thank you so much for this tip! I feel like I should read the manual now to see what else I’m missing out on For us lane keeping gets switched off as part of the getting ready process, like putting on seatbelts... just press and hold the steering wheel button for 3 seconds and it's gone. Agree on the smaller wheels on the Model 3 being best. Tesla did make that "sleeper" performance version of the Model 3 for a while, which IIRC had the regular wheels/brakes etc but the bigger motors. I wish they would do that again.Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
