The qualities of the V60 R-Design can be taken to a higher level with the R-Design Pro version, again available with all engine/transmission combinations. This introduces 19-inch alloy wheels, dark-tinted rear windows, active bending headlights with adaptive shadow technology, and puddle lights. Keyless Drive – entry and engine start – and hands-free tailgate operation increase the convenience factor, while the cabin ambience is enhanced with multi-colour interior lighting. I went full middle aged man and got the Inscription over the R design as it rides so much better, R design I found to hard and fidgity - Inscription just much softer - it's not a sports car, just something to get form A to B in comfort.
I went for the S50 T5 though rather than estate but it's still quite a handsome looking car.
Very well equipped with blond leather, heated and vented seats, heated screen, LED adaptive bending headlights and a ton of safety stuff that is easy to turn off and keep off.
Only thing I didn't get that I'd have wanted is adaptive cruise.
Car Play was already fitted and it cost me £300 to have Android Auto installed.

Inscription - Wood effect trim, leather seats sliver roof rails, 18" wheels. Pro adds bendy headlights, handsfree boot, vented seats 19" wheels.
Momentum - Black roof rails, 17" wheels , cloth seats. Pro adds bendy headlights and leather seats, memory seat positions. 18" wheels.
R-Design - Lowered Chassis and buckey seats... often the larger wheels.
Or something like that, plus is a bit like pro but difference? Individual cars appear to able to deviate quite a lot until they really clamped down on that and then dropped almost all of the range including anything non-hybrid, and then the whole V and S range into the UK!
Lower spec get matt plastic trim inside on the steering wheel and centre console, greater models get gloss interior plastic which looks less cheap and somehow feels less plasticky too. We also didnt see many cars on 17" wheels at all.
While standard on the V90 is am told, on the V60 the adaptive cruse control was optional on all trim levels and not a popular one. You can also get BLIS without acc. The ACC is however amazing and I am glad we hunted out a car with that spec. See also memory seats, which can be programmed to pre-adjust based on which key is used.
We avoided the R-design because we wanted something comfortable not lower and stiffer, its not that low or stiff, but it isn't as soft and the mrs' commute has a lot of pot holes!
Just been on a weekend to Edinburgh and its amazing how as soon as you get past the border there is a huge spike in the number of V60 and V90's compared to here in the Northwest where its all SUVs everywhere and they are a pretty rare sight.

As someone above stated the information on dkecs I'm finding hard to locate I almost fell into a deep sleep reading the PDF car broucher.
Currently looking at t4 and b3, not sure which to go for.

It is I believe technically possible to have an R-Design without the 'lowered sports chassis' but I didnt see one in all our looking.We have a T4 Momentum plus and are very happy with it.
Did test drive a few D4 for the mpg, its not obviously very different from the drivers seat, in the end we found a nice car with the adaptive cc and bagged it in petrol guise. Did a good long run at the weekend up to Scotland and back and it returned 43mpg on the run up and 41mph over the whole 600 mile weekend.

I would say so, yes. Not a mad mans rocket ship, but it is fast.Its no slouch that's for sure, on paper the 0-60 for the 187bhp T4 is 7sec and the feels about right, the auto box is not sporty but it balances holding a gear and kicking down fairly well in my book, and if you push the right foot to the floor it certainly makes the right noises and does the right thing. It also has good long legs and seems to slide through the air nicely, so the 60-80 performance is also very manageable.
My daily (E46 330ci with book 0-60 6.3) is currently off the road for welding so I have been in the wife's 90hp 1.6tdi Fiesta a couple of months which is 11.5 book and a huge amount less when it goes into limp mode and struggles to get past 65! So the calibration on my internal accelerometers might have drifted a bit, but now we have had the car five months and have settled into it its a very nice car for a wide range of driving.

I see on another thread someone with a T5 S60 (which I assume is faster) says 28-33mpg. Do you better that?

Book figures for the V60 (from parkers) are as follows:
D4. 46.3 - 52.3
T4. 34.4 - 38.7
T5. 34.0 - 38.7
Of cause, fuel consumption is well linked to the weight of your feet!
