This has certainly been the case in the past, but it was much worse on this trip: long periods when the radio was on but we had no DAB reception for any station. I have the wonderful MySpin version. Not that great but also not that bad IMHO - see above my conclusions. One thing I noticed when using bluetooth via my phone for favourite internet radio stations or for playing TIDAL; I hadn't taken into account the volume setting on my phone. I usually have the volume setting at about 70%. It took a friend to point out why the Focal system wasn't as loud as I would have expected....
Also, if you are experiencing a lot of bluetooth cut-out's then request your dealer to have MySpin to be re-installed / re-booted at your next service. It solved the bluetooth issue for me. It will also mean you will get the 2020 version of MySpin, so the maps will likely be more up to date than the 2018 versions.

I wouldn't be overly concerned. It's only a matter of time before reputable car hifi specialists configure a neat way of upgrading the A110 pre-facelift cars with CarPlay / Auto Android functionality. By 'neat' I mean without replacing the OEM screen. Although some folks have already replaced the screen with an 'Alpine' (car hifi) display unit.
I'll place these links into the All Things Infotainment thread, otherwise we'll end up with multiple (sub) threads on the same subject...

Well, the garage phoned when I was three minutes away, to tell me that their technician is ill and can we reschedule? We'll no, as it happens 'cos I'm in the car driving to see you...
The only positive is that I had sufficient in-car time to work out why the DAB radio had stopped working. It coincided with me fitting a dashcam, and it seems the power lead is attenuating the DAB signal. Unplug the power to the camera and bingo! the radio works. Does this sound likely and, more to the point, can you get a shielded USB A to USB C cable?

Can you re-route the camera lead?
I have a camera in mine and it has not affected the DAB at all (as in no worse than it was before). If it helps mine is run from the power outlet at the rear of the centre consul, tucked up under the consul trim on the passenger side, under the carpet in the passenger footwell and then within the passenger door rubber up to the top of the A pillar, under the pillar trim and then tucked into the roof lining. Pretty much the same on all our cars and really easy way to route them. Invisible other the a few inches of cable at the power outlet.

Thanks, that's helpful. The only difference I can see is that I routed mine under the passenger dashboard (where the glove box would be, if we had one); perhaps this runs too close to the head unit and/or whatever aerial Alpine fits. I'll try rerouting it under the carpet. I only used the cheap 3.5mm diameter cable that came with the camera, so there's probably no shielding...I have a camera in mine and it has not affected the DAB at all (as in no worse than it was before). Maybe. Mine is below the fuse box. Usefully it is easy to pull the carpet back because of the fuse box being located behind it.It looks like the camera was interfering with the DAB signal; I had fitted it to be unobtrusive, tucked up in the corner by the rear view mirror housing. Presumably, this is where the aerial is situated, as moving the camera away from there has cured the problem. It is now mounted at the top edge of the screen, approximately halfway between the mirror and the A-post. Unfortunately this means it sits outside the swept arc of the wipers.

Is that awkward radio remote control thingy RH side of the steering wheel realy needed? Or in other words can I remove it and use the main unit for controling the same functions?
Besides the ugly and outdated appearance I noticed during my test drive that it was sometimes in the way when trying to shift with the RH paddle, especially in a turn.

I doubt you would have any dash warnings but it's too useful to lose if you listen to music a lot. On a similar topic, I find the scroll wheel not the most reliable for changing tracks, as sometimes scrolling to the next track goes to the beginning of the same track, does anyone else experience this? It happens around once per drive via phone/Android Auto wireless with USB Audio Player Pro app.
The only real gripe I have with the stalk, is it's close to my knee as I'm tall. I removed the bottom of my steering cowl for the same reason. With a wide leg stance it's all acceptable, but being able to have my knees closer together/straight infront of the pedals feels so much more natural. Also saves 400g at the same time.
