GTRCLIVE said: That is great hinges on a diet :-) maybe we can get the chassis also down on a dieet what about an alluminium honeycomb monocoque that should help bring down the weigth of the chassis by 25% - 30%

Got some nice big Chunks of Billet 6061 sitting in the garage now waiting for machining. I need to do some work on making bigger catch trays for the coolant return on my mill as it tends to drip everywhere at present, so I bought five 8'x4' sheets of 16G NS4 aswell as the mill it will also do for the chassis skinning.....

Well after alot longer than I'd hoped I finally have a Cnc mill with no running issues. The new more powerful motors and new breakout board have solved its issues with loosing position. So I did a full program run though on Sunday and now have a nice shiny front upright !!!!

Rears right now , but I've ordered some filters for my intank fuel pumps as I need to verify the design before I cut the billet removeable inserts that will weld into the fuel tank. You can remove the Pump / filter units from a empty tank easily with a nice bolted O ringed seal
