I am in desperate need of a new top for my '86 280i. Has anyone had a good or bad experience?
Local shops have quoted $2000 and up with no promises for a custom one.
Marshall had a guy for $750 IIRC but Marshal is off line.
I can get them from the UK for much less even with shipping. But most of the happy ending PS stories have them installed by the seller.
How hard are they to self-install? Thanks for any input. Grady

Cant answer any of your questions but you may get more feedback if you post the fitting question in the 'General TVR Stuff'. Good luck, Tony.

I had a new top a couple of years ago. I was told that although the "top makers" still have the Tasmin pattern, they do not produce them. The guy made one. $1,100 using the correct material. If I were to repeat this (which I won't ) I would get one sent from UK and get it installed. Maybe look on Ebay for a 280 with a good top and put in a bid for $1,500

I discovered the big world of "TVR Gossip" and now learned that between Marshall, Neil and Richard all shutting down, we may really have some orphan cars over here. I may never have a working speedometer. Grady

That is crap news, not unexpected. Thanks for the heads up.
ETA I had a speedo repaired at a place in Detroit. It was pretty inexpensive. I'll do a search and see if I can find the place.
Give this place a shot Dash USA 3930 John R. Rd., Troy, MI 48083 Phone: (248) 835-1332
It was $100 including return shipping. (a few years ago, Porsche not TVR, but I think they are all similar)
