jimmyjam said: Fnatastic Alfa, enjoy! What did you do to get banned from AO!? I'd rather have your lovely old Alfa jimmyjam, after seeing it on an AO tunnel run Well the official reason was for having duplicate logins but the unofficial is that I didn't get along with 'the popular' people on there!

That is just stunning. You have the legendary busso v6 under the bonnet. Words cannot describe how good that engine is. I miss my GTV V6 so much (written off recently). Make sure you rev it hard sometimes, you owe it to the engine to do this!

Awesome pics. I lol'd at the comment earlier in the thread about being careful where you park it, I suppose you might worry about it being stolen, but round where I live you could leave that unlocked in the local Asda car park at night and it would still be there in the morning. It's a great car, but the chavs round here wouldn't know what it had under the bonnet and would see it as no more tempting to nick or damage than a Mito!

The comment was because my last 147 was clamped and sold on illegally but couldn't do anything about it But I agree with what you said about not many chavs know what's under the bonnet, already had that happen on a slip road with a Fiesta ST

Surely you must have had some sort of legal high-ground, unless you were targeted by a foreign gang who have gotten good at towing cars, getting them out of the country quickly then disappearing, leaving no car left to fight over? As for Fiesta STs, lovely cars but they do seem attract aggressive drivers with something to prove, especially when their cars aren't all that fast to start with. Probably just adds to their problem really!

I found that even the Cloverleaf was more than a match for the Fiesta ST but you could tell it was something tasty for the fact it was on Koni's and had a bigger exhaust on her Where as the GTA is standard apart from the exhaust but does sound rather interesting

Just a quick update really... I love this to bits, it has to be the most complete car out there I think. It has more than enough oomph to have fun, handles rather well tbh, super comfy, makes a great crusing car. Oh and I am getting around 17mpg over the last 800miles but I don't care about things like that I will be having a Q2 installed over xmas alone with a new radiator inc pipes etc etc...apart from that she's totally fine PS - Not one thing has gone wrong with her either so where people say Alfs's are unrealiable, utter utter tosh!!

Good to hear you're still loving it! Sadly my reliability issues have not been so positive. Out of the 2 Alfa's below, which one do you think needed the RAC this morning!.... Sadly (or fortunately!) the 40 yr old Junior is proving ever more reliable than the Brera. I've not hidden on here my disappointment about the build quality of my Brear and this is just another one. Complete loss of power coming off the A3. Had to crawl home doing 10mph with a few bunny hops for added embarressment. Diagnostics haven't found anything. Its at HWM now being looked at. Sorry to hi-jack your thread it was just a bit topical for me!

I am sorry to hear about your problems fella, it does seem a shame that the Brera's are turning out to be rather poor compared to older Alfa's or VERY old Alfa's like yours...what engine is in your Brera btw? Shame they are all GM based engines
