Running an older Porsche at ~£2k a year is about where I'm ok with at the mo!
Pretty much where my comfort level is right now too Having a Gallardo in the garage would be a wonderful thing and they are really fabulous cars, but the parts prices JM where quoting in that video are truly brutal

£2.5k for two exhaust clamps?! There's profiteering and then there's just taking the piss.
Its a V-band clamp that could be manufactured by pretty much anyone. There's no way I'd even be paying 10% of that cost for them, I don't care if they're not genuine
Surely one of the many aftermarket exhaust manufacturers should have a set on the shelf?
ETA: Surely this is what you're after? Still £225 each but better than £1250 each

Lovely car. I really liked these when they came out, I wished they had scissor doors but other than that it was just perfect in my eyes. Congrats, its good you're living the dream and having a shed for a daily means this feels extra special. I have a clio too. I have envy for that renault merch in the original garage photos! Sorry for your news of your friend, life can be brutal.

they are a special concave clamp that cope with a special donut washer between the pipe ends, Don;t ask how much the donuts are
Oh right. Isn't there a work-around? (Obviously, I'm not clever enough to figure out this kind of mechanical problem but there must be someone out there who is.)In hindsight, maybe I could have done some research and got some clamps in readiness for this work being done as well as waited for the fella I've been in touch with in America to sort me that oil filter housing gasket. Doing that would have saved me a small fortune. The challenge I have currently is time is not on my side as the car is in the garage right now.

Thanks, I appreciate your post. The Renault merch was found (and then subsequently sold) on eBay so it's all there if you were wanting to do the same. Hoofy said:

Mines in for its smallest service, not even plugs, just air and oil filters. Lots of ‘visual’ checks, £2.5k before anything is found that needs doing
