Crap all round.
Can run a Lambo, won't spend £50 extra to get something decent..
For £1450 it seems a decent shed to rack out 20k miles a year mind.

Or maybe he can afford a lambo because only spends money on what he needs, rather than what other people tell him he needs?
Nice car OP - love the colour
This. The tyres I have chose match my requirements and my risk level is more than satisfied. There’ll be more updates on this shed than the other car, I’m sure. Nice car OP - love the colour
Tried to fit the new glow plugs tonight but the socket I got was the wrong size, so I’ll have another go at the weekend.
The ditchfinders get fitted tomorrow so fingers crossed I don’t die instantaneously

Think you missed the point, they work, but when you doing 1.6k miles a month, the shortcoming will be very noticeable. Yes premium will be double but will most likely last twice as long. Contis go on easy for 40k. p4cks said:
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I understand. If we want to chat about tyres versus non-branded tyres please can we start a new thread in General Gassing and I'll join you on there, rather than clogging this thread up.
you mentioned it, and also come across a bit precious. p4cks said:

I have had Autogreen tyres in the past, I honestly couldn't tell any difference and would happily buy them in the future. I bet the people who think they are instant death are the same people who have another set of wheels with winter tyres and swap them over at the end of October.Oh and I have bought Mannol oil from eBay for years and it has been fine.

Budget tyres are usually softer compound, wearing quicker, hence why people recommend getting better brands when you do higher mileage, hence false economy, As the op has said, he only want to hear his posts.Oh and I have bought Mannol oil from eBay for years and it has been fine.

The OPs managed to afford a Lamborghini so I’m going to hazard a guess that his judgements about “economy” are fine. p4cks said:

Make sure you get premium glow plugs. Budget glow plugs are just a false economy Tried to fit the new glow plugs tonight but the socket I got was the wrong size, so I’ll have another go at the weekend.

I had one of these a few years ago, it was a good tool and drove well even when I got rid at ~150k miles. I lamented the lack of Bluetooth for music but could at least make calls. I changed it for a Passat when we had kids.
Yeah the lack of Bluetooth is a minor annoyance, although I’ve been tempted to fit a £20 Android Bluetooth stereo but I’ll see how I get on with my £3.50 aux to iPhone cable which means at least I can listen to Spotify. Oh and in other news the glow plugs are Bosch so I won’t die.
MOT and tyres done today, and I didn't die on the way home so that's positive. As was the fact I knocked the EML off whilst in the MOT place car park :P
Managed to get the right socket for the glow plugs to changed those tonight, 20 minute job. Absolute piece of piss.
The old ones looked a bit scorched. Never owned a diesel before so maybe someone can tell me if this is normal?
They couldn't do the tracking as it needs new track rod ends so I'll get that all done another time. Still considering one of those sheighty eBay bluetooth stereos for £20 but we'll see how we go.

This did raise a wry smile, thank you! Edited by p4cks on Friday 28th July 18:10
I'm still alive, the Autogreens are actually a superb tyre for anyone considering them.
Because this car is getting FA spent on it, I needed a rear wiper motor. £65 for a new one, £35 for a used one or be a Frankenstein and make my own from a MK1 Leon.
Before the operation
The operation itself
And the result, with a full sweep of the rear window
Total cost including the new arm and blade was £20. This is one of the reasons I can afford to run a Lambo. I also still shop at Lidl and will buy Autogreen tyres for my shed for forever more.
