2.0 duratec? Who needs torque in that thing

Twin cam Honda d16 or if you can find one cheap enough a b16 vtec 130-160bhp and let it sing to a over 7000rpm

No idea what box would mount up though

S2000 conversion would be ace but probably a bit pricey
Bonnet clearance is the biggest problem with alot of these engines. The k20 and f20c will be too tall even with a drysump I think. Definitely worth a measure up.

FWIW Fiat made that twin-cam engine with 1,438cc, 1,592cc, 1608cc, 1756cc or 1995cc, plus a 1,300cc version for the Lancia Beta Coupe. Power was anything between 80bhp and 118bhp IIRC.

Until Lancia got the 16 valve version and stuck a Turbo on in the Integrale, or put a Turbo on the 1.6 in the Delta HF.

So plenty of choice!
Guess I need to get it on a Dyno and actually see what it's making. Work out what to do with it.

You sound like you know abit about these lumps. I've been told that the camboxes have the oil drains adjusted to suit being mounted on an angle in the delta. So now it's level. It may have one came drowning in oil and the other with the tide out. Guess I need to pull the rockers and look for myself.

Would a NA subaru ej20 fit?
You would need to dry sump it but it has low cog and is all aluminium so pretty light weight. They have avcs which is like a mild vtec.
Very drivable engine.

How about a left field choice.... a BMW K1600 engine. 1600cc, 160hp straight six with a sequential 6 speed box already fitted. It's shaft drive too so alleviates some drivetrain headaches....

Interesting idea, but I don't think. It would fit between the chassis . As it's designed to be transversely mounted and the gearbox housing is part of the block. So you couldn't mount it longitudinally

Yeah doesn't matter with bike engines whether designed to be shaft drive or not, you just fit a flanged coupling onto the output shaft where the sprocket used to be.

What a lovely spec Fury. I have a lot of interest in these, after watching them in the RGB class with 750MC.

I would keep the Fiat Twin Cam myself, they have a lot of period charm / character and plenty of support / tuning available.

yes

That's why I wanted a fury back in the day, and why I now race in that championship, albeit not called RGB any more (sports 1000) and has evolved a lot.

Didn't know about these. Probably a pain to get parts to tune it with but it's unique proposition.

I think they were only ever fitted transversely, so I'm not sure how easily you could fit one to your car - certainly different though!

I seem to recall someone on here had a 5 cylinder Turbo Coupe that was making over 300bhp!

I could definitely be wrong but I think it's dirved from the fiat twin cam, so will likely fit the 131 box already in the car.

yeah ive alread asked a few questions on there. i need to just get it on the road and get afeel for it now. i think it will be absolutley fine with a ligfht fettle.

was thinking last night my old zcars mini was 590kg with a 130bhp gsxr1000 and that was penty fast enough. so if this in in the 150s with some messing id be quite happy.

Don't get me wrong she's been interested but this one seems to have clicked. It's probably the size is less intimidating.

Although apparently it's to loud biglaugh I do plan on addressing it as it does seem mega loud l. Although they mrs thinks it's about the same as the ,,205
Rally-style headsets? Could be quite fun!

I was thinking about it, after helping out a friend in Forumla Vee occasionally. But I stuck with bike racing. I'd love to come and say hi at an RGB meeting sometime.

Just found this link to a thread about the 5 cylinder Fiat Turbo engine - it seems 500 bhp is possible:- https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
